The atomic overlord and volt

I don't recall ever seeing a thread about these boots. I saw some in a shop and they tickle my fancy. I have to try them on but assuming they fit, I was going to maybe get the overlord. but my concern is with two buckles. obviously a fitting boot is going to hold your foot in, but would one with two buckles perhaps be inferior to one with more, or a buckle at the ankle (like dalbello and the nordica boots have)? I like that buckle at the ankle but i don't need it.
anyone got them? personal opinions?

The liner in the Overload was designed with tons of heel reinforcement and special foam to deliver the fit a silent buckle. We worked very closely with Andreas Hatveit to dial it in.
The Volt is based off of our 98mm race chassis but the shell is lifted 5mm to give more leverage on wider skis. It's the only 98mm boot that does that (meaning not just a painted race boot, it actually has user benefit).

hmmm. that heel thing sounds appealing. the region near my Achilles tendon and a bit above is dramatically thinner than my calf muscle and i always find that i always have tons of room in boots (skates, ice skates, anything really) because of it. heat moldable liner i'm assuming?

Yep, fully heat moldable liners. I will say that the fit of these boots is like comparing an SPK to a FT- both will not work for your foot. Definitely go try some on. Hopefully you can find some, Atomic USA has been sold out of all sizes of both boots since December 1.

Yeah they didn't have my size. I think i'll wait till next year. not many days left of my season before I go back to school. being on the east cost doesn't help either.
