i would have to say and i hate to say it but tom wallisch just because of the fact that his sponsors have a lot of money and i have seen him in a lot of ads lately... what do yu guys think? no hate please

think of all the signature/pro model stuff simon has...had his own pro model ski with salomon, pro model pole with scott, signature goggle with oakley, signature suit with oakley, not to mention empire or whatever. i bet he's made a pretty good living.

Jon Olsson seems to be the richest freestyle skier,
Bode Miller I am not sure of but he seems to be well off.
Then Tanner and Simon.

However, they are all more wealthy from skiing/companies that they have started. But I would say Tom Wallisch is one of the richest that makes his money soley off of his skiing achievements. But that doesn't mean he makes 100, 000 a year or if he does it's because he's won lots of competitions and sponsors have matched that.

I really doubt Wallisch makes that much yet.  You have to remember, he is still new on the scene, he has not done anything at the x-games, and it is only young park kids on newschoolers(not trying to be derogatory, just sayin') who are big fans of his.  He has nothing like the backing of a Dumont, or a Tanner Hall.  Until he starts to win x-games medals I doubt he will make all that much.  Frankly, Sage, Seth and Abma have a MUCH bigger presence on the scene. 

I would expect that lots of guys make a whole lot more than Wallisch.  If we want to talk wealthiest, are we talking Olympic guys?  Bode Miller and Jonny Moseley made quite a bit of money, and lots of the euro racers make a ton.

As far a freeskiers go, Candide, Jon and Henrik Windstedt make a ton.  I doubt Wallisch even makes 100k yet, although I could be wrong.  Jon is truly quite wealthy, and Candide has been making money for a while, so I bet it would be between him and Jon, although Jon almost definitely makes more.  I know Henrik Windstedt moved to Monaco, which is a great tax haven for the ultra wealthy.  You don't move there unless you are killing it.

I would say Jon is at the top.  Wallisch is not even close at this point.  People here have to remember that newschoolers.com is only part of the industry.  Tom Wallisch probably won't even place on the powder poll.  I don't mean to piss people off, I'm just being honest, but he is a long way from the top anywhere other than newschoolers. 

The guys making the most money are the ones making x-games medals, and the guys getting top video billing for TGR/MSP.

you do realize that tom won Euro-X last year, right? and that he just one Freeskiers "skier of the year" award.

saying that Tom "is a long way from the top anywhere other than newschoolers" is one of the stupidest things I've read in a long time.  its not 2007 anymore.

Wow, this isn't a word you hear much to describe Tanner. Plus he invested a lot in real estate right before the bubble burst so I would guess "smart" might be an overstatement; I think his investment skills are more on par with MC Hammer's. Also, definitely as far as American skiers go, Vonn or Miller. Jon Olsson does well I'm sure, but I think you all might be overestimating his net worth. Freeskiers do not make that much money, most of his toys are to complement his image as a rockstar but he lives in a tiny ass condo and, as said above, is a skier.

Someone mentioned Begg-Smith because of his internet/spam company but I'm gonna go with Hermann Maier. Dude was a legend and must have made some dough. That is a total guess though. Maybe Stein Ericsen if he actually owns his hotel.

RIchest, I would guess Jon Olsson. People have a good point about Bode Miller and Lindsey Vonn though.

Nope, it's in Monaco where people have huge baller ass apartments. Admittedly, his place is probably worth a decent amount because I bet real estte is pretty pricey. Also, he probably figures he doesn't need a big place because he travels so much. But that doesn't change the fact that he doesn't have millions to toss around.

based on being know i think it is Lindsay Vonn, i have never seen a commercial with anyother skiers but i've seen Lindsay Vonn in multiple commercials including sports authority and nature valley plus more i can't think of right now

i dont know about ranking racers so low. its really popular in europe, and they grt a pretty good check if they win, or even place. plus sponsors give bonuses at the end of the year for results, like combo points in a video game.
