Pearl Jam and Nirvana

man these are two of the most amazing grunge bands ever, and they both were amazing live. That is one thing that i think separates them from some of the newer bands out there, most of them blow live, and i think this is stupid. If you like these bands i would highly reccomend buying the Pearl Jam bootleg discs, which in my opinion are sometimes better than the studio versions. Also as far as nirvana i own a copy of the Heart Shaped Rome Tour, which i think is their best performance, studio or not. I reccomend buying these.

ya. nirvana and pearl jam both kick alot of ass. nevermind was the fist album that I ever really got into. I got the tape way back in the day when when it came out and listened to it everyday as loud as my little tape player would rip. I think nirvana is one of my favorite bands of ever. I get on binges of other stuff or go through other music phases but nirvana will always rule.

The problem with bands today is they don't have that chemistry, well a natural one that causes internal turmoil that springs the ideas and emotions in many of the pearl jam and nirvana songs. Today it's all about dating the hot girl in school, having a great hairdo, money, money, money. It's become a emotionless game. The big acts today are only pawns of the record companies to generate money. Support your local music scene if you have one, go to local shows and if you're lucky enough to reside in an area where the scene is alive you'll see there's still hope.

I never said they weren't great. I've loved Pearl Jam since Ten came out when I was in the 6th grade. They were semi-grunge then, but from vs. on they went far away from grunge. They just got bunched into the whole Seattle flannel wearing, heroin shooting, grunge rock crowd. Now they could almost be described as political rock.

i used to listen to nirvana religeously....then i realized i am a sub-urban white kid whith nothing to be mad about....but i loved the bleach album...and pearl jam is grunge...and 10 is one of the greatest albums of all time in my opinion...i just hate how all the kiddies now a day think that the only good music out there is what is on mtv and the radio...it pisses me off...i was talking to a kid the other day and he said 'since its not on mtv and stuff then it must not be good' and that jsut pisses me off...i hate that kuz there is so much awesome music out there that no one really listens to....i hate all this manufactured bullshit nowadays...

Yo Hazel....listened to Riot Act, Yield, No Code, or any live Pearl Jam from the last 6-8 years? Not grunge. I'm not trying to argue with you, but that's a miscontrued image of grunge. Grunge went out in the mid to late 90's.

im a huge fan of pearl jam...its not like all out grunge like what wha tu would automatically have the vision of grunge..i like pearl jam kuz they are so political, and i llike the way vedder thinks....i know ur not trying to argue...and soundgarden was so sick also...so was rage..now they combined into audioslave....but i also really liked when part of pearl jam and part of soundgarden combined to from 'temple of the dog'..and alot of people never knew that...

PearJam is kick ass, same with Nervina pyetornal tea sp? is one of the best songs. Sound garden is also amazing.

nirvanas the best after zeppelin, however although ten is one of my favorite albums of all time, thats the only pearl jam album i really like

Alice in Chains and soundgarden rule. im not a big nirvana fan, they're pretty good but not thaaat good. and kurt cobain's from seattle, one of my teachers is went to school with kurt's parents back in the day and has been good friends with the cobains for a long time so he knew kurt.

plenty of people take toddlers to concerts... and yeah, soungarden, alice in chains, temple of the dog... and then there was harvey danger, not bad... there are so many good bands from here... and theres always hendrix.
