someone posted the conversation, but it got deleted

basically he sold all his ski stuff, he made some mad /claims about destroying the terrain park, but how it beat him up, when someone suggested he just ski at half speed and on pow days, he said he can't slow down; "thats like asking someone who usually drives twice the speed limit to go 25 mph at all times". and then he said he was gonna get good at golf, and that golfing blazed is fun.

You guys are so crazy to even bring me up in this forum. I'm not even relevant anymore on the site.

But I will say this:

I know most of you will call me or already have called me; a pussy, a fag, a quitter, etc. It really isn't any of your business what I do with my life kids. I'm walking away from the sport that I loved and was my passion for nearly 10 years of my adolescence through becoming a man.

I know some will be haters and say shit anything to contradict what I am about to write. In the end I helped a lot of people out in skiing. I don't have to name names because I can't. I just remember faces and what it was like to teach people something I cared so passionately about. Whether it was on the bunny hill or their very first lesson in the park, it was my pleasure to create a spark for people.

I know most people that have actually met me in person was when I was indeed arrogant, but no one extended a second chance later in life when people have grown up. I know with such a youthful exuberance on this site, that it is sometimes hard for people to act civilized in forum discussions. So with this, I bid skiing a farewell and maybe we will come back together one day.

This will be my last post on Newschoolers.com

To everyone that knew the real me. I love ya'll. I miss ya. I'm out.

i like this. i wish i was really involved enough in the sport during your era to say that i would miss you, but i just cant. unfortunately the most i really know of you is that you were good, you had a really famous crash, and you quit skiing.

however, with this post, the least i can do is try to find some old edits and give you respect and +vibes. it sucks to have to be away from anything you love. good luck with whatever you pursue after this.

Don't know this guy nor have I heard of him.

But I respect his decision.

When you guys get older you'll finally realize that when you fall you eventually stop bouncing and begin to break. I'm 28 now and I've watched countless friends annihilate ACLs and have sketchy spinal injuries. Mommy and Daddy aren't writing checks for them and short term disability at work only takes you so far. There comes a time when you need to hang it up.

For the whole "ski at half speed/don't do jumps" argument that doesn't work for everyone. I assume most of you guys are into park and would never want to stop. Next time you go skiing try convincing yourself to not go in the park, ski at half speed, and stick to beginner trails. Why the hell would you want to drop $80 on a lift ticket? Skiing by the park entrance would be torture. Telling someone to slow down when they ski is the same as telling a full blown alcoholic to just have 2 beers at a bar. It's in their blood to ski hard and the only way they can stop themselves from destroying their body is to stop skiing completely.

You just keep rationalizing your quitting. On FB all you were doing was trying to convince yourself quitting was the right choice. Clearly you are not ever skiing.

Something that was your 'passion for nearly 10 years' in which you 'remember faces and what it was like to teach people something I cared so passionately about' you dont just walk away from. Do you just pretend to like skiing?

Maybe we're interpreting him wrong. Maybe he didn't want to live with the thought of getting hurt again in his head. Not because of the pain, but because everyone who loves skiing knows that there's nothing worse than sitting at home injured while your friends progress. It sucks.

I tore my ACL last January, season ender. Dislocated my patella in my other knee 3 weeks ago, not supposed to hit features this year. So far, I have skied 4 days since my last injury, and I know how hard it is to skip everything in the park, especially since that is still where I am skiing, but I am filming now. My knees feel great, but I don't want to risk hurting them again so I'm gonna give them a rest from the features, not from skiing. Do you know how much it sucks not being able to ski park 2 years in a row? Do you know how hard it is to see everyone slaying rails when I can't touch them? Its not that hard, at least I'm still skiing.

You're missing the entire point of what I'm saying. Douchebag or not, the guy's fuckin passionate. He realized that he's at the point now where he'd be better off being passionate about other things. If you care enough about something, you get frustrated when it doesn't work out. Eventually frustration gets in the way of passion. At that point, you just have to back off because it starts ruining your life.

i used to hate on b-glant way back in the day because he got so good so fast! i loved it when he died on that 270 on, but now, i respect the old boy. you'll always be better than most humans (all humans ever born) in the world of newschool freestyle skiing!
