Starting to get back into programming and thought that I would give application programming a try. Just wondering if anyone here has ever or is still involved in app development because I would love some pointers and someone to answer my questions.
eh. I wouldn't start programming with iPhone apps. I would say take a class in java and go from there.
Personally, I started with BASIC and C++ in an intro course, and then took java after. I think C++ gave me a great foundation for java and other languages, but BASIC was useless except for extremely, well, basic concepts. I also think I could have jumped straight into java without the other two.
You might also want to check out python, I'm just starting to mess around with it and it's very interesting.
Visual Basic, and C# and the like are also options you might want to look into, though I'd say that you should learn a language like C++, C, or java first because they really help you understand whats going on under the surface.
yea man I have taken some classes in HS and learned mostly java programming. I have been hearing a lot about python but have not messed around with it yet. Im in college studying engineering so hopefully I will be able to take some more programming classes in the future
