You are exactly right (minus the 'bigotry and sister-fucking' bit -- that just makes you sound completely ignorant), but my point is, people like to show where they come from. And while the Confederacy doesn't have a lot of culture or too many years of history behind it, people whose ancestors fought for that movement often times like to show that, and be proud of it. And, furthermore, while there truly are no clear definitive characteristics of the Confederacy beyond political conservatism and the advocacy for states' rights, people down in the South tend to think there is, and choose to fly the flag -- which is, as you said, quite stupid. But, all I was trying to say is that the rebel flag isn't necessarily a symbol of white supremacy. So, by all means, when you see someone drive by in their beat up F-150 waving it, feel free to call them dumb, but please don't be so quick to call them racist.
Tim Horton's Coffee is not good, it tastes burnt. I havent tried Duncan Doughnuts' but Mcdonalds' is really good.
they have some other good stuff at Tim Horton's though
It's important to remember that i never said anything about the meaning of the good 'ol battle flag, i was merely calling you out on being a bitch about it.
the sisterfucking bit was obviously just thrown in to further piss off our resident rednecks.
like you conceded, the rest of what i said was completely true. the confederate flag's ideology has no unique, definitive characteristics or ideology and vague words like "tradition" and "heritage" are used to hedge stupid, or simply nonexistent ideologies. people are more than welcome to have pride in where they came from, and they always should be, but the fact remains that there are many better ways to show innocent pride in something respectable.
people are allowed to have whatever beliefs they want but by the same token i have every right to tell these idiots why they're obviously missing brains, and it's ALWAYS hilarious to watch them get pissed off when they can't make a single coherent response or defense of their BS
you keep making posts that are addressed in the post of mine that you quoted...?
exactly, you are trying to tiptoe around the argument because you've been unable to make any response yet beyond trying to make it look like i'm mad when really i'm getting a kick out of your stupidity
the problem is that everybody thinks that the confederacy was solely a pro-slavery movement when in reality there were slaves in the Northeast and the war didn't even become about slavery until much later on. sure flaunting a confederate flag means you're a douchebag rebel but it doesn't automatically mean you're some sister-fucker who owns slaves
no i know, you have to be really young to still think the civil war was good ole lincoln crusading for the slaves for the sake of morality. it wasn't like that at all, and the confederacy wasn't fighting solely for slavery in and of itself, but as ive repeated there are no unique, defining values or ideologies to it that aren't innocently, intelligently expressed in other -isms
Not to mention that the confederates weren't all about owning slaves, They wanted their own way of life seperate from the norths. Basically they wanted their own independence and way of life.
+k on that one. a few years ago my aunt moved from the midwest to florida... she literally said the people down there are WAY dumber than people up here... haha it made me lol. no offense or anything, but thats funny as hell
as weird as that is, don't worry. why would anyone in canada be worried about the south rising again? if it somehow happened it would take years for the south to conquer the north, and by the time the rednecks were done fucking there sisters in the north and slowing the progress of technology, canada would probably have rockets sending people to live on mars or something
why dont you like the flag? i never really got what you disliked about it. and dont say that slavery shit. much like other pieces of farm equipment, the use of slaves in the agricultural south is dead and gone. time to let it go buddy
hahah, my friend bought an old dodge truck for $1000 which the previous owner reupholstered the headliner with a confederate flag, when people look up from beside that's all you see, oh and I live in BC
You know that and now I know that (thanks google), but I'm going out on a long shot and assuming that the people that still show off the confederacy aren't representing a whole different ideology and way of life of entire culture, most likely they are showing it off as more off a previously stated "redneck" reason.
It is like the swastika. Originally, it represented a Buddhist good luck charm. After WW2, it now represents Hitler and the Nazi party. If you wore a swastika near I would assume you wear a Nazi, even if you only meant it as a representation of good luck charm. It still appears hateful and offensive.
lead buckshot would taste terrible, but copper wouldnt bad at all. copper munitions are better for the environment as well, but because they are a harder material they tend to travel cleanly through a target instead of mushrooming/deforming on impact and therefore have less stopping power, but with a low velocity load such as buckshot it doesnt really make much of a difference either way.
