people have been wishing for it for years man, i honestly don't know why it hasn't happened, i mean, besides for the fact that it would be sick, there has got to be some huge money making/advertising/sponsorship potential... doesn't make sense to me...
ruling out the dew tour, its amazing that there is now Utah Open, or Park City Open.... there's an Aspen Open, and in the past there has been the Breckenrdige Open, Big Bear Open, Mt. Snow, etc.....
mountains stand to make no money off of that sort of thing. its the sponsors/event organizers that generally help bring existing competitions etc to various mountains. a mountain just hosting that wouldnt see any profit, and without any push from major sponsors to create such an event, there is little reason to start something that time constraining/expensive.
i dont know how it works with skiing, but i talked to an event organizer that has been involved with skate comps and he said the way the do it is to find a venue for the event and once their on board basically auction off sponsor spots to people who want to back it, this varies depending on the size of the event but it seems like pc should be able to pull something like that off.
