according to the ad banner up top the caspers are "the best park/pipe ski ive ever used".  if tj, candide and justin dorey use them they must be good.  buy the colby west pro models and you will be funnier and better at skiing

To answer your question: yes coreUPT is legit.
I might be a little biased, but they definitely make some of the best quality/price skis out there!
You should really consider looking at this years skis, they are on point (I have the TJ Pro and absolutely love it)! As for the bindings (DLD15), they are still very good for the price, but I personally don't like them as much as my jesters or sth16s.

I've been rocking the original CJW Pro models as my park/rail ski for 2 seasons (Hood Summer, Utah winter, and EC '11). They are part of my 3 ski quiver, and have held up. Had a great day on them today. A few blown out edges, but nothing big. Great in the park and EC groomers... but the sort of suck for everything else. However, I had a few fun POW days on them at Alta (just for laughs). Get a pair if the price is right.

just because you read were among the 60,000 readers that read the enlarged quote in freeskier this month saying "if something is too good to be true than it probably is," it doesn't mean that it had anything to do with coreupts ski quality

assuming it was even related to coreupt (and yes it was) it had a lot more to do with the business side of the company and the way contracts were structured for him

for example: a lot of the athletes that coreupt were going after, were being duped/misled with promises of making damn 6 figures with pro model royalties and everything of the sort

the problem was only some athletes had the agents/managers to realize the numbers required to hit these targets were almost impossible to achieve under a normal sales volume


spark notes: if some brand new company starts spewing out huge promises about your salary, have a trained eye look over the contract

I thought it turned out coreupt had no relation to dynastar (except that the first year of skis were made by them obviously).
Didn't the money turn out to be BMW or something? (I honestly don't know its just a vague memory)

Coreupt is not by dynastar, they are 100% coreupt now. Only the first year of production was made by dynastar.

I've never skied them, and everyones saying a lot ofgood stuff about them but my friend totally delaminated the whole entire topsheet of his. So that the base and plastic(...composite?...) were separate. Your pick tho they're still sick skis

It was coreupt's first year, back then they did not have the ski presses and had to get their skis done at the dynastar factory. Now, and since a few years, coreupt makes their own skis and the quality is awesome too, just a different construction than dynastar. Really durable skis and fun to play with around.

so 07/08? 08/09?
cause i just broke my libertys and need some new skis and am looking at the 09 yard or the 09 colby west skis. im riding 95% park with a 50/50 with jumps and rails jumps around 65ft.
Which of those two would you reccomend?

my buddy just got the yards said that they seemed like a softer flex and i hear that the colbys are the stiffest, also the colbys are symetrical and the yards arent all personal preference though dude...Hope that helped and the 09/10 are coreupt skis not dynastar

i had teh TJ pros last year and they were pretty sick!
definately the most durable ski i ever owned. landed on sharp rocks from about 7 feet with the skis and the bases just got a tiny core shot. i actually expected them to be severly damaged since im not the lightest.

they were kind of on the stiff side. what i didnt like is that they felt kinda heavy.

but if one likes going big and wants a solid ski i can only recommend it to you.

Funny, I reckon mine are probably the lightest pair of skis I've ever owned, even compared to my Fujatives which were cap construction. Stiff underfoot, but soft tips and tails, so still very butterable.

i have last years, maybe they are different. id say they are quite a bit heavier then my punx.
the punx are seriously light, 1 ski weighed about 1.55 kg if i remember correct.

anyways, i love the way the punx ski and how easy they are to throw around. they are pretty soft compared to the coreupts. the only areas where the coreupts beat the punx is durability and carvability on groomed tracks. the punx also carve awesome but the coreupts were insane. yea but concluding i think the punx are a lighter jibbier and mor playful version of the TJs. 0 camber would be awesome for them but i hope that in a few months the camber is close to 0...
