Interchangeable lens video camera

So i was talking to this guy i know, hes a pro videographer, and we were talking about the new cameras that you can change the lens on, to maybe a nikon 10.5mm fisheye (for all you kids who r into that) so i found this one

So NS what are your thoughts on a camera like this... i have a few nikon lenses from my nikon DSLR and an old film SLR. it would be sick to use them on a video camera.

the sensor on this camcorder is pretty much like full frame so you actually get a DOF with that f/2.8 on the nice lenses. u know what im saying?

oh i duno where to put this, but im gunna shoot things from skiing to documentries and short movies etc etc, i have a go pro, but that rly doesnt cut it ahha.

well what do you guys know about cameras like these (if you've heard about RED cameras... yeah) but in a more commercial... ski bum-ish senior student with a 10.25/hr job price range... this one looks nice but i want to know if there are any others youve heard about. and what are your thoughts on this camer and this kind of video camera... come on tech guys get in here...

it's a sick idea.

personally, i would never get that sony one because it's still a very consumer focused camera, plus i just don't like sony much. i've never tried their really high end cameras but i'm not a fan of their lower end ones.

panasonic has one called the AG-AF100 and it looks much better. more professional for sure. I've always loved Panasonic's prosumer cameras, so one with interchangeable lenses sounds amazing.

Sony cameras simply aren't quality products until you get into the ~$7,000 price point. This model is no exception. All they did was jump on the bandwagon, marketing interchangeable lenses to the consumer market, whilst still ignoring other very important features that have been standard in Panasonic's line for years, and at a fraction of the cost.

Honestly, if you want a good interchangeable lens camera system on the cheap, get a t2i or GH2. For their price, they simply can't be beat.

+1 on the t2i/gh2 call. You can use your nikon lenses on those cameras via an adapter and get a fantastic result

Dont even waste your time with that shit, get a 7d or t2i if you're gonna be doing slr. If you wanna step up from that though, af100 is what you want.

This exacly. for 2,000 you can get a sick t2i set up with 3 lenses and mic, My friend the NEX-VG10 and I got a t2i and am so glad I did. He showed me his vg10 and i was not impressed, Its total crap for $2,000.. dont touch it. Get your hands on something quality.

thanks boys, i knew i probs wouldnt end up gettin the sony.
i have a Nikon D300 atm and a few lenses, so do my friends (we r super cute and share)

so if i were to go with video... nikon D7000 probs cuz im already shootin nikon.

Don't limit yourself. You can make just about any lens fit a Canon DSLR with the help of a $9 Fotodiox adapter ring...if Canon is what you're after (I haven't kept up to date on whether or not Nikon's video functions have caught up with Canon's yet.)

a.k.a 540 progressive resolution. I kept pointing this out when everyone was stoked on HDV, and now that tapeless recording with 1080p is available, people finally realize that interlaced is garbage.

yea 1080i is shit. i filmed in 1080i the first day i had my HVX and then never used it again.
