LINE boott bag as a carry-on

So I'm heading to whistler this wenesday and not so sure whether or not I can get away with having my line boot bag make it on as a carry-on with United. Last time I traveled I just slung my boots over my backpack with the powerstraps and had no problem.
But my line bag has more room for ski essentials than my other bag. So I wasn't sure whether or not ill make it to the gate with my boot bag in hand. Not about to give my boots to the responsibility of the airline. Yet this bag seems pretty irregularly shaped to make it on. But idk. Anyone else make it on the plane with a boot bag as opposed to a regular backpack?

should be fine as long as you leave the shampoo and napalm out of the bag

yeah airlines aren't to keen on you bringing bombs on the plane, even if you explain to them that you don't intend to use it, ohh my that was a nasty trip to iraq....

i brought my weird shaped line boot bag and no one said shit.. i had to shove it to get it in the overhead bin but it worked out ok. but you know if you check your skis as sport equipment it counts as 2 items... which means you can check your boots too.

can you hang boots over your shoulder and bring them on the plane while carrying a backpack?

the main reason I take my boots and ski essentials in a carry on is because even if your other stuff gets lost (which seems to not happen nearly as much as it used to), you have your boots and the things you need, so you can demo skis, and just buy cheap replacements for the things you dont have, so you can ski for the day or two before your shit gets to you.

it should work fine. i always take my boots on using a boot bag. and even if it doesnt fit (which it should unless you have enormous feet like me) you can take the boots out and put them in the overhead with your bag separate.
it will work

Southwest doesn't charge the boot bag when you check it with your skis.

Also wondering this. I'm going to colorado in a few weeks, and I wanna bring the new boots I just bought. My carry on i usually my camera bag. So I would hope they wouldn't count boots+bag as two things.

its fine to bring a bag and boots. you are allowed two carry-ons, so you're all good.

Having the same problem. wanna use my line boot bag as a carry on but technically its bigger than the 9x14x22 dimensions the airline sets. so none of you guys have had trouble with this?

If you don't want any trouble just make sure the bag is below the dimensions. My old bootbag was rejected, but I was allowed to take my boots on loose (as one piece) and then fold up my bootbag into my backpack.
If it is a really low profile bootbag, like just big enough for boots with only one pocket, then you will be fine. I have traveled with one of those for many many flights.
