Sigma 18-50 f/2.8?

I recently got the t2i body for christmas and need to buy some lens. It doesnt look like I need anything anything bigger than 18-50. Mostly used for filming skiing in cloudy conditions. Its not to expensive either. Anyone have some feedback on what to get? If this lens is a good choice? Im open to all suggestions.

Im thinking of this lens, or the tamron equivalent.

i have the tamron 17-50 f/2.8 and its such a sick lens. i love it. i got it new on ebay for $350. i would say definitely get one

the tamron equivalent is supposed to be nicer than the sigma 18-50.

I heard that as well.

I purchased my 18-50mm sigma 2.8 off adorama for 244, so for the price, I can't complain one bit.
