I am about 50/50 with park and all mountain. How would these be. I live in michigan and go out west about once a year so I dont ride that much pow. Would these be a good ski for me? also Im about 5 '10 200 pounds would i go with 165 or 175?
The ARV is more of a powder ski than an "all-mountain" ski. If you're not skiing pow a lot, I would go with the AR7 if you're looking for Armadas. I've had the AR6 for about three seasons and they've been awesome (same ski as the AR7 essentially).
I wouldn't say it's specifically for powder, but it's still pretty wide for my tastes. Park skis will shred anything, And I'm pretty sure they increased the width on the AR& compared to last year's model so they'll do a good job; I used my AR6s for everything.
I've only ski'd pow once or twice with my ar7s... Not very good. Its not impossible but they're not wide enough to plow through anything and you just end up having to work really hard. ARV's on the other hand are a perfect 50/50 ski. Pow with them is wonderful, park is adequate (really soft for jumps but great on rails minus heavy swing rate). But if you are looking for a truly 50/50 ski the ARV should do ya good
