i live in pittsford NY, right outside of rochester. raining all day the only snow left is the dirty piles left from the plow

anything other than new york city is considered upstate.

That's how you know where a skier lives. At the end of march/early april there will be a huge pile of snow when there is no snow left.

No snow left in Syracuse hopefully these still enough on the slopes up at lab there were huge spots of mud and rocks all over.

we had a grand total of 4.5 inches on the season. its gone now. fucking rain. we dont even have jumps yet cause we ran out of water in the snowmaking pond and the rain didnt do shit for that.

i just got back form montana today and landed in Newark. fucking disgusting out. dirty snow everywhere, everything was wet, and it was like muggy and warm compared to the -4 in montana

im near syracuse. haven't seen my backyard setup (it's at my dads) but i don't have high hopes. it sucks, everything is like wiped out.

2011 did not start well for the snow. The Adirondaks and the Catskills both have little to no snow left in most places. To settle the debate that seems to have arisen, it is indeed true that all of NY except for the city is "Upstate." Westchester may be exempt, but certainly the Catskills and anywhere north is Upstate.

That is just your opinion, not fact. Western NY may be upstate if you're a retard from the city, but to any actual upstaters, that is western or central NY

were the north country, look at wikipedia. adirondacks are ALWAYS considered upstate. everything else usually, north country is where its at

"upstate" new york basically starts anywhere north of brewster. All farmlands and nothing really going on at all.

So then, what's between the city and "upstate" NY? "Just below upstate NY"? I think you're just trying to be a little too proud about where you're from, which is totally cool. But anything above the city is considered upstate. And yes, there is still western and northern NY, but you can't just single out the Adirondacks as upstate haha.
