2011 Ace of Spades Rocker?

After skiing three days on my new 2011 nordica ace of spades skis (184) they have become completely rockered from tip to tail to the point where the tips and tails are about 1-2cm apart and the only contact point is directly under the boot. Anyone else getting this? I haven't really noticed any change in performance so i'm not tremendously worried about it, i just thought i would see if anyone else's ace of spades are becoming rockered. hell, it might actually make surface swaps easier.

This happened to my friends to. Now they are so soft he can tail butter just by leaning a little bit back. Seems sketchy but he says he loves them

Probably because he has skied them for such a long time that he is used to.

word, mine are still super stiff but i have literally only been on them for three days. i figure by the end of the season they'll look like hellbents, haha.

they have metal in them don't they? I guess i's not gonna bend back. I was considering getting these when my skis break. but not if this happens a lot.

Nordica make the Ace of Spade in 2 models, Camber and flat. he probably bought the flats

do they really? i didn't know that. i do know they have titanium in them. if that bends, does it not bend back?

its not that it bends, its just the shape of the ski, being flat, the best way to visualize it is like this

not true, the late release 2010's were flat and they carried over to the 2011 line, proof from pro form site, Also the shop i work at has 3 pairs of the flat model

Wow thats a sick idea, having the same park ski but with a camber model and a rocker cambered model, that would be sick.

i disagree, it works on snowboards, but i think it would be weird on skis, i would love to try it if it happens though

ill get some wednesday when i go into work, its bascially just a flat ski, nothing special. imo, flat ski=dead ski

ahhh. i know they sold the ski with binding and then a flat ski with no binding. cool if they did it though. i just saw all next years nordica line and it is sick. graphics are dope and they introducing some major new stuff. they are putting so much into R&D it makes other brands look bad

that makes sense because these skis were a prize in a comp before the years lineup was even released. what you're saying about it being an optical illusion though is bullshit. when the skis are placed base to base the only spot that touches is right at the center line of the ski. the rest of the ski follows a smooth uniform rocker shape. the skis started flat before they were skied, but they now have a slight bit of rocker. its not getting any worse, but there is 100% certainly rocker in both skis.

i ski for nordica and i haven't had any issues at all with rockering out. The flat versions of the skis is talking about the bindings. flat as in no binding plate or system. in europe the skis is sometimes sold with a plate so the flat just means any binding can be placed on it. the rockering should be a warrantee issue and i know the op said he didn't care but he could most likely get it fixed if he wanted. PM me with any other questions and i will either answer them myself or get in contact with nordica to answer it for you.

i think the pop is better for nollies because you can really rock into it, but i dont really see a significant improvement or anything in ollies. i'm getting mad high nollies though.

i have domains and sure you may put a little more work into popping on/off stuff but the fun of the rocker is well worth it

mine have held up amazingly and have just as much pop as they did the first time i rode them...

im really amazed at how well the edges hold... ive taken 2 core shots next to the edge that should have totaled the ski but the edges held... just a little p-tex and i was back in business

ok to answer some questions.... the nw rep just came by and dropped off my 11/12 spades and i brought up the funny issues being discussed in this thread... mainly the idea of there being 2 different models of the ski....

there is only one. the flat is (without binding) and the other is with a turn table plat... this site is for reps to purchase there demos and they usually choose to order the flat because the plate weighs too much and they would rather put griffon demo bindings on.

i asked if he had heard anything about the ski rockering itself overtime and he said no... i havent had that experience with mine either, but i would be interested to see some pictures of someones ski to which this has happened.
