ARVs in the park

can anyone tell me how the arv does in the park? i think the arv looks like it's up my alley but does it still rip in the park and especially on rails? is it much heavier than the ar7? is it a good ski for a lot of time on rails (and dull underfoot edges)?

also, very important-- is the 2011 arv not different at ALL from the 2010 besides graphics?

thanks for any help, i'd like to pick these up tomorrow if i can

They are quite solid in the park, 2 years ago I used my brother's ARV's at COC, they were very solid. Pretty much the same as my pipe cleaners except with a little bit wider base. I actually really like them in the park.

I've had a pair for a couple of years now and they are great in the park.  They are pretty poppy and are great on rails.  If I know I'm going to spend the majority of the day in the park I ski my park sticks, but other than that I ride ARV's in the park all the time.

ARVs are one of the best all aroumd skis out there.. Ive always assumed they would be really jice in the park. I ride AR6s and AR7s and always wished i had a little more platform underfoot

I just started riding 2011 ARV's and they rock. Cant tell ya how they compare to previous years but they are pretty stiff in the middle with a lot of flex in tip/tail so tons of pop, no complaints on rails and they're also a really light ski so all around great park riding for an all mountain ski. Have fun.

i hear the search bar helps. but my friend like em so far. he love how they handle on the bigger landings. but another awesome ski just like it to look at is the line chronic cryptonites. thats what i have i love em. they are playful and amazing on everything

Pretty much just like any other park ski. I skied a run on my buddies Moment jibs then on my ARVs, and my ARVs were softer. If you ask me the ARV is a park ski, but its marketed to be a pow ski.

great on rails, a little soft for jumps but by all means doable.

They are a little heavy making non-surface swaps and spins a little harder but once you've been riding them for a while you'll get used to them and love em.

I'll sell you my 09 ones if you want!!

super fun in the park. definitely a different feel than your normal park ski but you get used to it real quick. as long as ur not hitting 100 ft step downs they are great in the park

well theyre marketed as an all mtn ski, but i see what you mean. i havent ridden ARVs, but my moment tahoes were similar to what ive heard the ARVs are like, and that 95-96mm underfoot is really great for park

okay next questions--

what is the cutoff for wide brakes? i have p12 jibs i'll be putting on these skis, i assume i will need wide brakes/where should i get them?

also, does anyone know where to get ARVs for less than 600 bucks? i wanna get last years (the ones with the fish and shit on them) cause they look less stupid than this year's and are the exact same ski supposedly, but i cant even find those anywhere for any less than 600... any help?
