GOPRO HELP

so I just got a gopro for christmas and took it to the mountain for the first time. When I was on the mountain the camera kept on freezing up and not stopping recording. When I got home I noticed that I had it in 1080P so I think that was the problem, but now when I turn on my camera it goes directly to camera mode and won't stop taking pictures. Then I can't switch the modes or do anything... When it's plugged in it goes directly to video mode but the red LED flashes and everything on the screen flashes aswell. Does any one know what's wrong with my camera Please help Thanks

Sounds like it's in 1-button mode. Read the new manual on the gopro website, I'm pretty sure you hold the shutter button for 3 seconds to go to settings and you can change it from there
