Do I have the wrong adapter for my GoPro?

I have this gopro with the helmet mount. I stuck the adhesive tape on to the helmet. Put the camera on and tried to screw down the screw. But it ends up just spinning and goes not catch on anything. My camera isn't firmly mounted and Utah just go like 2 feet of snow.

Whats going on here?

It is NOT this adapter. The adapter I have is small and basically allows for a single screw to be screwed in, but no thread to catch it.

have you tried using a nut? the mounts themselves are not threaded,

^do you have a nut in? if so the bolt can get pushed into the plastic part more so try to push it back through

There is a nut on the led side, if there isn't one on it then go get one. It is a silver octagon thing.

I am now more educated after skiing at Brighton today and looking at the gopro mounted. It is painfully obvious I left my nut back in Michigan. And because of that I just can't get it on.


I am going to REI tonight to resolve this promptly.

Mine only came with 2 nuts, this sucks because many mounts need the nuts. Im not a one mount kind of guy so It is pesky when changing mounts on the fly, espescially on lifts.

I bought the helmet mount yesterday just to end up knocking my gopro off today at alta.

so anyways I went and bought a chesty mount so I can see it blinking and make sure its on and etc.
