Passport question.

So if I am applying for my first passport, do they do a background check? I only ask this because my buddy says they will deny you a passport if you do not have a clear record, is this true?

It seems like you will only be denied if you have some sort of warrant/court order/subpeona/court date outstanding that hasn't been dealt with yet.

The real problem is whether you can get into some countries with a criminal record. Some countries won't let people with criminal records in

you'll be fine. i got the same charge a few years back and i didn't have any problems getting one in June.
