Center mounted skis?

I'm riding switch in the park a bunch but my skis were mounted way off center. I would have moved them up earlier, but I don't want to ruin their pow ability (they're only 81cm underfoot). If i ride 40% park, 20% pow, and 40% all mountain, where should I mount them?

Center mount is so awesome for skiing park and switch. I rode Volkl walls on some big mountain and center mounted last year through all conditions. It feels a little weird but you get used to it.

well what skis are they, seeing as an 81 waist isn't really gonna do that great in anything more than 2 inches of powder

i reckon mount them at 1cm behind center

i ride my dumonts at 1cm behind center.

they go hard in anything!

They're k2 silencers. And yeah, not great in pow. but how much of a difference does center mounting really make?

I ride silencers and I ride about half park, and half groomers. I have mine mounted 2 cm from center. Theyre close enough to be easy to ride in the park, but it'll still let you ride pow pretty decently.

It matters a lot, especially depending on dimensions of skis (symmetrical)

i have the silencers too and have em mounted back 1 cm. their great for park and groomers but u have to lean way back in pow

this.  you dont want to center mount a ski that is not symmetrical.  Silencers were my first twin tips and i had them mounted 4cm from true center for mainly all mountain with a little bit of park.  When i got my chronics though i mounted them -2cm from true center because even though they had a symmetrical flex pattern the demensions aren't symmertrical.

Anywhere from -2cm to -4cm from true center should get you want you want out of the ski.

no you dont. i have been riding a 70 under foot racing ski in pow this whole winter, have been in europe, couldent bring my skis. you actually have to be centered, or even lean a bit foreward. next time there is a big pow day at your resort ride some skinny ass skis and learn how to pressure your tips. i think it has helped me ski pow so much, and when i get back on my 138 under foot praxis skiing deep snow is going to be so easey. its silly to think you cant ride well just because you dont have a fatty. watch an old ski movie or ask your dad how it was, they still had a hell of a lot of fun in deep snow.

i have liberty phil larose pros mounted dead center and i cruise the whole mountain no problem they even handled some pow, the center took some getting used too but it was worth it for switching from park to pow, just move your weight back and cruise

I ride a 179, and have them mounted 3 cm behind true center. Allows my to ride switch, and keeps my swing weight somewhat balanced, yet I can charge without worry...
