Replying to Going off axis when spinning

yeah so prettyyy much this is a gaper question but i need help.... Alot of times when i spin say a 3 even, but always when i try to spin more lately i go slightly off axis, usually in the forwardish and to the right way and land on one foot or my side and crash pretty bad. What am i doing wrong? Im pretty sure i get a solid and clean pop off the lip and a good set to my spin just in the air i go off axis? Someone today told me its because i kinda look down at the ground when i spin and not around my shoulder? Is this it? Please halp me
