yeah so prettyyy much this is a gaper question but i need help.... Alot of times when i spin say a 3 even, but always when i try to spin more lately i go slightly off axis, usually in the forwardish and to the right way and land on one foot or my side and crash pretty bad. What am i doing wrong? Im pretty sure i get a solid and clean pop off the lip and a good set to my spin just in the air i go off axis? Someone today told me its because i kinda look down at the ground when i spin and not around my shoulder? Is this it? Please halp me

(on trampolines for the most part) the harder I spin the more off axis I go. Do you throw your spins a little too hard you think? Try a more relaxing set to your spins if you throw them a little hard.

I'd also like some help with this, last season I could spin 7s pretty easily and at the start of the summer I could spin upright 12 without going off axis, but ever since I learned corks, I havent' been able to spin past 5 on a tramp and any time I go for a 7 on skis I feel my self falling backwards at 360 and I freak out, I can still 5 pretty well though

Video will help us help you. Are you popping cleanly from both feet? If you pop off one harder than the other it might mess your spin up.

i was having trouble staying on axis with my sevens. i decided to just learn cork 7s and they are way easier to land clean. i dont do many regular 7s but when i do i have to hit a bigger jump and grabbing opposite tail helps stay on axis.

What you were told was right. Looking down or up will cause you to cork, unless you compensate for it. That is something you just have to learn by feel. The best way to stay spinning on axis is to try to keep your chin up. Try to make sure to not spot your landing until you are starting the last 90 of your spin. If you feel like you have to look to see how much time you have, try to look down just with your eyes and not your head.

That's why even the pros miss grabs sometimes. You have to do it by feel and I suggest the sweep technique. You kind of sweep your arm in toward the place way you think the ski is going to be and wait to make contact. When your wrist hits the ski, pull your hand back for the grab. If you try to just reach straight down for the grab and miss, then you have fish for it, and you usually don't have that much time.

Try to keep your vision level while you spin, and make sure that when you take off your weight is equally on each foot. You land how you take off.
Another thing that might help is to try to set your spins slower, and try to start them AFTER you've left the ground completely. You should pop, be able to see what's in front of you for a moment, then start spinning. It helps to pick a spot to look at while taking off.

whats more important than vision is keeping your shoulders level. You can look at whatever you want but if you let your shoulder go slack you will end up going off axis. So try and go off the lip with a good stance, shoulders square, even pop off both feet, and really try and keep your shoulders level. You may look like a boner the first few times but the basics are important.
Thats the usual shpeel I give to kids when they're having problems with their 3's....works in about 90% of all cases. I can't really get a good idea of what your doing wrong cause I cant see you do it. Hope it helps.

agree completly never look down or at your skis you will loose your balence 100%...try not to huck it so hard. make sure to spin sideways with your hips shoulders head whatever and dont get lazy and lower your shoulder/head....does that make sense?
