Waxing/sharpening new skis that came with factory wax?

Just got new skis, they have factory wax. When I asked the guy who was mounting my skis today how much a wax&sharpen costs, he said I didnt need one b/c of the factory wax. Now im use to racing skis so my dad would always help me wax a new pair non-stop like it was a surfboard... but on something thats just gonna treat the hill like a park.. do I need a wax?

Yes, skis do come with a factory tune, and depending on what you are doing, you may or may not need or care to change it. In my opinion, it is a good idea to get your skis waxed just because the bases on new skis are kinda dirty- never hurts to do a hot scrape and put on some good base prep.
Do you need to actually tune your new all mountain/freestyle/freeride skis? I don't think any freeskier is going to be as picky as a racer about base/side edge angles, but if you have a preference, go for it.
