Pine Needles

Does anyone know that insted of using astro around the end of the rail to ride away, to use pine needles, would they slide better when riding away and a add a little softness.

I've never heard of someone trying to use pine needles, I can't imagine them working too well though. The concept behind astro turf is that you can wet it down, I doubt that would apply to pine needles.

I personally use astro turf, though I've heard great things about construction fence. (It's cheaper than turf) You can give pine needles a shot, and if it fails, buy fence/turf. But even if it gives you enough speed, they're gonna flatten and spread out, requiring a lot more mantainance.
