The thing is, the guy doesn't directly refute her point. The fact remains that, at least according to her, hockey players wore jock-straps well before helmets... which still illustrates her point that (some) men have been concerned with protecting their balls whilst disregarding their brains.

the reason helmets weren't introduced until later is because the sticks weren't curved until later, therefore pucks weren't raised nearly as often as they are now, and they weren't really a danger to the head.
