I will never support salomon

I dont know if any of you saw Charles Gagnier at the dew tour, but did, and after 12 years of salomon supporting him and sponsoring him they drop him from the team. Not only is he in dew tour/ X games, but he had a killer urban segment in the new PBP movie. Now Charle is riding 5 year old SPK skis with the target on them, and still killing it. Im all for supporting the next generation of riders but the nerve to cut a legend, is going to far.

P.S. this isn't the first time salomon has don this i.e. CR R.I.P

Who would use so many unnecessary swears (at least the way you say it) to "diss" people if they aren't being at least somewhat serious? You sound so fuckin upset all the time, go ski and have some god damn fun for once holy shit.

simon dumont

they choose skiers to reflect the type of company they are. all of these people throw firey shitstorms in competitions and do quadruple mctwists. each company has its unique identity through the skiers they choose and charles isnt a fit for the company simple as that.

The only thing Salomon has and will continue to be good at is making Good Ski Boots......thats it, nothing more, I will never again ski their skis or their bindings, their binding technology is 20 years old ( dumonts fall in the dew tour) and they skis are shit ( Shogen delaming after 10 days happened to several friends)

I will repeat myself just because I really mean it : Salomon has only figured out Boots and that is it. Fuck their skis, fuck their bindings. The only skiers you see on salomon bindings are the ones sponsored by salomon skis.

ive seen the heel pieces on salomon bindings come out of the railing more than once, so its not a mounting fault, its a design fault. friends who are technicians have told me they've seen it countless times.

i have salomon boots skis and a jacket and hat from them.

all i have to say is.


Fuck salomon, have you ever tried calling or emailing them?
well i did last year after my skis started falling apart then i realized they DONT HAVE NUMBER or EMAIL not even a fucking fax.

sorry buddy, gotta call you out on this one... how old is the pivot/fks design? it doesn't matter, because it still works. also, seth uses S916s, and he does not ride salomon skis.

i know very well what a rep is. and i also tried through the store that i purchased the skis at. i asked them for any information to contact salmon or for them to do it for me and they told me i was out of luck. i also asked to contact a sales rep and once again "sorry we cant do that"

Honestly I'll never buy Salomon either, not cos they dropped Gagnier (although that was a dickmove if he didnt quit), but because of how much they've fucked up in the past and never made up for it.

Suspects are a great example... Its pretty clear the edge armor causes major durability problems but they keep releasing the ski and refuse to admit there's a problem.

They constantly claim they have invented new technology which has been around for ages..
The shogun was the 'first' bamboo core ski..
The Czar was the first ski to be pressed in a rockered press ?!?

Those Quest 12 boots pretty much ruined life for that guy when the dynafit inserts failed..

yea they were pricks about it, and this was literally the day after i bought and got them mounted, and they said that i was riding them too hard. I rode like 3 groomers and the top sheet started coming off with the binding. they fixed it up for me in the store. Regardless the build quality is blatantly shit. That was last year and im stuck to the same skis cause the rents dont want me to "buy new skis every year". i guess its kinda my fault for not doing better research

I've had the same pair of Z12 lights for going on 5 years and they have never failed or given me any trouble. I don't have any experience with their skis but I totally agree about the boots/bindings part.

And at risk of sounding like a broken record, I have a hard time believing they just straight up dropped Charles. There's definitely more to the story than just that.

Also, serious question: if he's not riding for salomon anymore, will he still film with PBP (assuming he picks up a new sponsor, which he is bound to do)? His urban segment in EDIAS was unreal, and I'd hate to miss out on that.

The spring in the Pivot is not old and out compared to how the spring works in the STH's. The Pivot/FKS is known unofficial as the most popular and best binding ever created for freeriding.

funny, because a handful of years ago I had some Salomon bindings break on me. I called them up and told them what was broken with my binding. With no pics or a receipt, and without me having to send them my broken parts, they mailed me the replacement parts. Quick and easy.


One of the best customer service experiences I've ever had (them and Armada have amazing warranty programs from my experience).

dude, go in, raise hell in the shop and get in touch with the rep.. it is there job to put you in touch with the salomon and i believe part of their authorised dealer contract.

Alternatively, this is the number for Salomon HQ in France: +33 4 50 65 4141

With luck you might be able to get them to give you a US warranty dept number. But despite a few people who have had some luck, Solly are notoriously difficult to contact, and in my mind the worst about warranty/backing their product.
