how about when you dont eject but fall in such a way that your skis stick in the snow in some terribly uncomfortable way that you cant move your legs without screaming in agony?
thats the worst. any solutions on that would be even better.
if you fell and got your skis off but cant stand up becasue you just sink in. and if you have a backpack its a plus. grab you poles and make a X with them and them put your backpack ontop of them and climb out....works like a dream in chest high pow or just trying to get out of a creek hole that you cant see
OK so the more surface area you have on the snow the less you will sink. I do Lincoln loops until i get to my skis and then go to the upside of a small tree where snow is more compacted.
It sounds stupid but if I have any control over my crash, like where i'm landing, I always make sure I fall next to something sturdy, like a small tree for example. It help an incredible amount to be next to something you can pull yourself up with when in deep pow. I used this technic over 20 times the last week in whistler when it was 3 feet of heavy pow everywhere including groomers (well usually groomers)
