A New Yorkers way of getting a vehicle out of snow
if theres a snow emergency your technically not allowed to park on the streets. Also say for instance you get into an accident with a snow plow you need to pay for all damages because the plow driver and vehicle cannot be held liable
yup, any kind of emergency (and snow counts) and your car is in the way, your fucked and theres nothing you can do about it. Thats why you never park in front of a fire hydrant. Not only for the ticket, but if the FD needs to get to that hydrant, they will smash you car out of the way anyway they can. And your held responsible for any damage done to the fire truck
This video is everyone in NJ. All the Jews in their $70,000 BMWs and flits in their Mazda Miatas think that they can handle in the snow like all the Silverados, F150s, Rams and Tundras that have 2 ft of clearance underneath.
Seattle drivers really do not know how to drive in the snow. People are effing dumb. Seattle stopped for like 2 whole days during our first snow, and to get from Everett which is about 30 minutes away on !-5 to Seattle when it first snowed was a total of 4 hours. Drivers even get stupid in the rain...which is unbelievable.
new york is such a mess. i had to go in yesterday and holy shit. every single car on the street is snowed in with 3 foot banks and every street crossing is 6in of slush wherever you walk. there're these retarded hipsters in slip on vans just ruining the sanctity of their feet. i cruised in with huge ass boots and stomped water all over these bitches
I live in Queens and for some reason every moron who drives a Honda Civic or Nissan Sentra thinks they can make it down an unplowed street with a foot plus of snow on it. People were abandoning their cars in the middle of the streets. STAY THE FUCK HOME if you cant drive down your own street.
sorry but the thread title should be a new york cityers way of getting a vehicle out of snow. here in central new york, we are used to this crap and deal fine with, unlike them pussies in the big cities.
That and what you can't really tell is that Seattle is built on a series of very steep hills, the biggest mistake is people driving on these hills in the first place, they should take alternate routes, AWD/4WD can help you get going, but it doesnt make you stop any better than the next guy. Nobody in Seattle has studs unless they are skiers. Fun to watch though
That storm posted above was wierd, it only snowed like 2 inches, but then compacted, it warmed for like 2 hours so it melted, then dropped to like 20 degrees and froze. It was gnarly just walking around parts of Seattle.
Haha no they don't suck it's the fucking idiot snow plows, and that Seattle has weather like that like once every 5 years, so people think they can drive like normal. It's not the skill that lacks, it's the common sense. The hills in Seattle are reallllllllyyyyyyyyy steep, and everything freezes because it's right near the water. And then the snow plows come out when there is 3 inches of snow and compact it into ice. Even with snow tires, you're not gonna make it up those hills unless you have AWD/4WD, and you're not gonna make it down unless you're really good at snow driving. Fuck Seattle, and fuck all the hipsters here.
Two inches of slushy snow maybe, try and parking lot with a foot of snow and I'll take my truck sittin on 33s any day. Also 4wd and awd are totally different systems, so of course some cars will perform better in light snow conditions, but only when the truck is ill prepared. I'll take my pickup with nice chunky tires and weight in the back over any car any day.
Ever rock yourself out of a ditch in an awd car?? I've plunged head first into 3 foot ditches on the side of the road with trucks and back and forthed til it pulled right out. You run off the road in a car and your fucked.
I'm gonna have to call pics or it didn't happen on that one. Ups truck ok maybe, pretty sure they're shitty 2wd rear anyway. Seriously though, an f350?, he must have had some shit tires and no weight whatsoever.
Congrats though, pulling people out always makes ya feel great, but it's not really a testament to how well your car handles in snow.
You must have some bomb ass winter tires.
Regardless I'd still take my truck over any awd car in shit conditions, especially when there is more than 6 inches on the road.
chill fella, pics or it didn't happen is basically what us relaxed people like to call a joke. I didn't really think you jumped out and snapped a pic while you were towing out a ups truck.
At least give us a few details about the situation, cause I seriously doubt your wittle suby dragged an f350 out of a deep ditch, those things weigh like a half ton or something ridiculous like that.
Maybe not lie, but it sure seems like you enjoy bragging a little on the internet, so please enlighten us a bit.
Are you really that stupid? Half a ton? You're the idiot saying you can't rock yourself out of a ditch with an AWD car and claiming your truck is better than any car. You're the one bragging on the internet. I was putting you in your place. Now go drive your truck off a cliff and if you survive make sure to take a picture of yourself driving it out.
Look we're all a little bitter about the snow situation on the ice coast right now, so maybe that's why you're panties are all bunched up or something. I never stated my truck is better than any car in the snow, I've seen subys outperform trucks in snow and mud no doubt. I've only stated what I prefer to drive.
You are the one making claims of pulling out huge one ton trucks with your scuby, so I just asked for a few details that's all.
Also I still don't see how you pulling out a truck has put me in my place. I pull out cars all the time too here in PA, morons with all kinds of vehicles run off the road.
Still would like a few details as stuck and towing stories are always fun to talk about.
I prefer ground clearance, weight over the rear, and good tires to awd that's all I'm saying dude. Also for the record none of that or awd cars help in sheet ice conditions like the videos above, except for maybe studded tires.
Obviously you know what you're doing as your sitting on hakkapelitas. And why would you get so bent over a comment like pics or it didn't happen if you actually have pics of it happening in your profile?? Just post em up and we all could of had a larfe at your dumb UPS driver.
You havin a bad day at work or something man??
PS with the chains and a shovel, he probably wouldn't have even need more than a push to get out of there.
I would still like to hear about the f-350 though. As a suby owner and ford hater myself I'm sure I'd get a kick out of that story.
Yea, I am. I'm sure you've seen the picture since you know I have hakkas. UPS driver had chains and those metal spikes you put under the tires. My plow guy got stuck going down the driveway and I had no problem getting through going up not an hour before. F-350 driver missed the driveway at my ski hill and went into 4ft of snow in a ditch. They were going to get the tractor out and I said no, I'll do it. 30 people standing around saying no way that'll work. Pulled him up and out first try.
