Neither are perfect, then again nobody is. That ski shop has an insane volume of skis come through 99 percent of which never have issues. Unfortunately time to time mistakes happen we're all human beings. I'm sure some of you work at respective work places and mistakes are made. CSG does there best to take care of you if it is there fault.
Half of people's issues come from buying the wrong equipment in the first place then blaming it on the store. Not saying thats the case, just saying 99 percent of the time it is. For example and mediocre skier comes in, wants top of the line boots, tells the store he's a 3+ skier, is told he's a 26.5, and measured at that, then when that size is brought out, and tried on he'll say "can I have a size up? my tows touch" So the bootfitter, will go through a 20 minute explanation on why the boot should fit that way, and the customer 75 percent of the time will still go with the 27 sized boot to get more comfort. Later he'll come in and say we sold him a boot thats to big....
With skis, people by demo skis for $200 bucks, and then come in after they have some sidewall blemishes and try to get a free one off the wall just because they feel entitled to it since they spent lower then cost on a used ski from the year before when the current years skis are still 400. See what I'm saying? It's still a business.
When it comes to bindings people don't like to spend money. They'll spend $899 on the skis, $499 on boots, then for some reason ask where the $100 bindings are. Most the time at this point they're convinced of what they need to spend to get a deal, and figure cheap bindings will work cuz well...they're bindings. And spend the 100 for a Marker m10 or instead of getting the Jester get the Squire, or instead of the Rossi 120 or 140 they go with the Axium. With full intent of using this binding in the park or other various difficult terrain.
Example, a couple years or so ago I had a guy that was set on buying m7.0's for his kid that was 16, because he didn't want to spend an extra 50 on a binding that would've been more fit for his kid to ski park. 2 weeks after that the binding ripped out of the ski and toe piece broke in half. Tried to blame me and the store. But if he had gotten the stronger binding it wouldn't have snapped.
You'd be amazed how many people make up stuff too. And the managers usually bite.
