What would you consider "peak season?"

Just curious as to what's the busiest time of the year for resorts. I know President's day weekend is up there, but as for the holiday season, what's gonna be busier? The days around new year's or the days around Christmas?

I'm asking because I'm heading back out to Utah for the spring semester, and I'm bring a friend with me, and neither of us has really ever experienced that "busy" vibe at a resort, so we're both stoked to spend a day at PCMR laughing at some general gaping.

I'm guessing that if you're asking about when resorts are most crowded so that you can go during that time, you are going for all the wrong reasons, and are likely more likely to partake in this "gaping" of which you speak than simply observe it.

That said, President's Day Weekend is always the safest bet for crowds.

well we'll be skiing alta for most of the week he's here, but on days with no snow we'll probably be at PC to ski a bit of park. I was just curious as to the amount of tourists there, including but not limited to jeans, skinny skis, laughable comments and hot girls.

It really won't be THAT busy, weekends might get crowded but hit a weekday and ski the park you'll be fine.

I hit up Utah last year during spring break (mid march for me) and it was pretty busy at PC. Alta and Snowbird werent that bad though. Skied in a freakin t-shirt at snowbird and was sweating my nuts off!

Well, I consider peak season to be when its the best and basically middle of the season, so MLK day through like the first week of February.

Today there were the longest lines of the season so far. The longest I waited was 5 minutes or so, not even taking the singles line every time.

so anyway, when massive global warming sets in in 20-30 years or so, Antarctica is going to be soooo dope for skiing. they'll still have a ton of glaciers and snow, and it's the highest continent by average elevation. the only reason it's a desert is because all of the water is frozen, so when it thaws out a little bit it will really snow a lot. so stoked for that

i thought that the rest of the posts had already fulfilled the purpose of the thread, so i thought i'd add this.

at my tiny no name hill in the midwest peak season is jan 10-march 5 ish. give or take a week. i have a pretty short season.
