New skis----->rail killa

so my friends. I've been in the market for some new skis so i've done some research. im lookin for a light jibby ski thats just straight up fun. i'm not gonna go hittin anything above a 30 fter so it doesnt have to slay the biggys like the JO pro. I mainly hit urban and rails. my research has come up with the liberty LTE as a good candidate, as well as the atomic punx, and the surface nine lifes. oh and i heard good things about the afterbang but it was also brought to my attention that theyre pretty damn heavy.

I just got the Salomon 2012's which are amazingly soft and playful in the tip and tail - great for jibbing and are also really good for jumps. Best of all, they're sturdy and won;'t fall to pieces like the suspects.

ive heard theyre sick but also pretty heavy, right now ive got some 08 k2 silencers that are boats. are they lighter then those? ive advanced outa the silencers so i just want something better, lighter and more jibby.

k2 domain is the lightest and most fun ski I've ever skied.. its flex is also so awesome.. its a ski made for small features and rails so you gotta buy em son.

they also got a cool neon glow under em thats totally worth mentioning because that boosts your performance alot

i think you should consider afterbangs anyway. so what if they way a little more, work your legs out, they're just skis. plus just get last years if you're going to destroy them, that is what they're meant for.

maybe amplid antidogmas? ive heard theyre VERY light and SUUPER durable. sounds like the perfect ski to me, and its mid flex so fine on jumps

afterbangs are not heavy until you are dumb and get them waterlogged.

they are definitely your best choice

180 for sure. especially if you are going to centre mount. which is highly recommended for rails.

i looked at the lte's too... but i dunno if i wanna drop a 600 spot on these... im snagging some new bindings too so it could get a bit pricey

Just to add another ski into the equation you might wanna check out Bluehouse. The MR is $250 brand new, but might be a bit wide (92-93 i believe) for what you're looking for

I've heard alot of good stuff about the Mavens and Antics as well. Good skis on the lower end of the price range. If you've got extra cash to spend I'd look into some of the bigger brands. K2, Armada, Line

line products: invaders are ill as fuck but i cant find any anywhere, anthems i almost got but i heard theyre just bigger versions of the afterbang, and the afterbang is also steezy so i might be leaning towards that.

anthems are lighter, softer (because of the butterzones), wider, performs better on jumps, and have better bases that retain more wax. i had last years anthems and loved them.

the 09 anthems are about the same weight as the afterbangs but the 10 anthems are made of a different core and i cant find any stats on it so i cant tell.

by '10 anthems you mean the ones with the random snowboarders on them? if yes then i have had them for 2 seasons now and they are pretty heavy, (178cm). but they ride very smooth and all around good ski. they seem to be a more all-around mountain type ski and just a bigger "wider" park ski. I also have old atomic boots that are quite heavy so that may contribute a bit.

the k2 domain in a 179 is the ski you're looking for. they're way lighter than what k2 has made in the past, super playful, and ski reasonably well all mountain for being a true twin.

ive got some atomic race skis that i use for the rest of te mountain so its fine if this is a park specific ski. i think im leaning towards the k2. 178 your thinkin? my silencers are 169 but theyre not center mounted so would it be too short if i went with 169's again?

the thing is.... they arent the poppiest ski due to the complete lack of camber. if it had rocker AND camber like the 2012, it would probably be more fun.

Invaders FTW! Try to find some 171s or 178s! Preferably 08 and newer because of the carbon ollie bands. Gives you some more pop.

Only reason why I say Invaders over A-bangs its because they are lighter and they don't have the extruded bases (which wil cause the ski to be a bit slower) so they'll perform better all mountain rather then just solely in the park.

Other then that they are both symmetrical flex, symmetrical dimensions, and both have butter zones making them some of the most playful rail killers out there.

believe it or not but my domains are very poppy... in fact i think they are poppyer then the 2012's... this is only from feeling them in a shop but i would sat go for domains.. you wont regret it and you will have an extra 150 to put towards bindings!

you completely missed what i said... the domain is 450 the 2012 is 600 so if you get the domains you will have an extra 150 for bindings

Volkl walls are light and poppy :)

Atomic punks are also good

Price wise I'm not sure if they are the cheapest, but they are good value :)

For the money you'll waste on a new pair of skis, you could get two pairs of lightly used skis. Use one for urban and plan on them getting utterly destroyed, use the nicer pair for resort riding. Go see whats for sale in sell/trade!
