Gopro FCE workflow

I just got a gopro and I have FCE and I was wondering what the best workflow for 60p is. I tried searchbarring, but most are for FCP/vegas. I can slow down my footage in quicktime and save it as mov files, but I was wondering if the quality on these is as good (they are the same size), and if I should then use mpeg streamclip to convert it, and then go into a 720 30p timeline. I have also heard of people just dragging a 60p clip into FCE after converting it to apple pro res, and as long as it is the first clip that is imported and it is on auto something for timeline, it works out. and then some people use imovie. Basically, I want the best quality, without too many programs, and preferably small downloads, as I want to be able to start doing (ie im not looking for someone to say dl an FCP 7 torrent). Any help is appreciated, thanks

MPEG Streamclip can handle all the converting. Make sure when converting, you change the frame bit to 60 fps. I like using apple intermadiac codec as the codec, FCE handles it really well.

thanks, but i'm having trouble finding out how to get the 60p to play at 30p or 24p. has anyone used this? http://afferentation.org/2010/09/how-to-import-60fps-into-imovie-from-gopro-hd-hero/

also, are there any disadvantages to intermediate, pro res isn't an option on mpeg streamclip anymore (or they hid it really well)

aka will that link give me full quality. I just tried it and it works fine, but i just took the video indoors to test it, and because it was dim it was shit quality to begin with, so I can't really tell if it is all from that, or if some is from the conversion. it seems like it should still be full quality
