What ski wax to use?

I have always had my skis waxed professionally, so i am trying to get into waxing my own skis. what type of wax should i use, i know swix s good but there are tons of types of swix wax. Also does any iron work?

I use Toko All-temp. Any iron without holes will work, however cheaper clothes irons have high temperature fluctuations, which can burn the base/wax. If you are going to be doing your own waxing I would say spend the money and get yourself a good iron. My Burton Hotstick iron cost me $60 I think.

ask your local shop. They will help you. It all depends on what kind of conditions youll be skiing in though

it just depends on what climate/terrain you are skiing. They have different types of wax for different temperatures just go into your local shop and look at the waxes

i work at a ski shop and we use the red swix wax as a general wax for all skis. and definitley get a good iron.

colour matters more than company but kuu and swix are some framiliar brands you cant go wrong with
