Rockered Skis

Ok so I've never skied on a pair of rockered skis before, actually I've never skied a wide ski (widest was like 95mm). But rockered skis sound awesome you have some much more float, never have to worry about your tips diving and it sounds like it would be a lot easier to ski switch in pow. But i got some questions:

What are the real advantages of rockered skis? Disadvantages?
Can I buy a rockered ski without skiing it or is the just a waste of money if i dont like it?
What are some playful skis with tip and tail rocker?
How do they do on the groomers? bumps?
Can you have a heavily rockered ski like the JJ for everyday use (one ski quiver)?
How much would i have to spend for a nice, but used setup?

1. they kepp your tips up and blast through crud
2. its your choice
3. how much camber are we looking at? like a jj, bencelter (sorry spelling) or like a k2 kung fujas?
4.ah unless you have traditional camber under foot its more difficult to hold an edge on icy slopes, bumbs most powder skis have a fairly wide turn radius. also getting edge to edge on wider skis say a 110- 120 is going to take more effort
5.not realy unless your having a fair bit of snow its not worth the extra effort of skiing on a full cambered ski
6.400-500 depending on what your looking at \

Rockered skis are awesome. they ski everything fine. a ski is a ski, rockered skis ride a bit different, and thats what makes them so much fun.

1. Amazing in pow and crud, although many rockered skis are soft, so they can get thrown around in chop. Easy to slash turns quickly
2. Don't see why you wouldn't like rockers
3. I've used the One Life, New Life, and old Hellbent and loved em all. Very poppy and fun
4. If you know how to actually turn a ski, then they are super fun and buttery on groomers. Bumps not so much fun, but can be done
5. I would definitely recommend the One Life as a daily driver - it's stiff, so its good when it's not so soft. I've heard nothing but good things bout the JJ
6. I'd say you could get some of last year's skis w/ binders for about 5-600 new, don't know bout used, but probably pretty cheap.

I had never skied a rockered ski before I bought mine, and I love it. My skis before were 79 underfoot and the transition wasn't hard at all. I have been using them more this year than my old skis, even when there is not much powder. I definitely recommend the ON3P Caylor, it's what I have and it is great in all conditions. Might be hard to find used though

so what are some playful skis that are kinda all mountain skis, that also have tip and tail rocker? JJ? ObSethed? S7?

Look into Surface Live Life or Live Life2 if your looking for used skis....
