Replying to Where did all the ski movies go?
So, I just finished watching revolver, you know that dvd that poorboyz is selling for $30. Well I watched it, and then I rewatched War, that ski film that poorboyz sold for $30 five years ago.
The skiing is way better in Revolver. The quality (of whatever we call what replaced film) is way better in Revolver. But what the fuck happened? Revolver did not get me excited to go skiing at all. Unfortunately this is true for pretty much every ski flick I have watched this year.
When I watch War, X, Focused, Exact Science, or High Five, I get excited to go skiing (there are plenty of other films from that time too so don't hate me for now including 1242). Never mind that the film is grainy in Exact Science, or that you see them doing a 240 off of a flat rail. I was excited to go skiing after watching those. I have not really gotten exited to go skiing after watching any recent ski movies. Yes, I see a lot of the holy shit did that just happen stuff, and its in crystal clear detail, but fuck, its boring.
maybe I am just to old to get excited about ski movies any more, or nostgelica (however the fuck you spell that word) but I miss the old ski movie.
Sincerely,
cobra
P.S. What's this I hear about people actually watching ski movies at ski movie premiers. Thats gay, I never went to watch the ski movie, it was more of a social get together then movie watching event. I couldn't even remember anything about the movies so I had to pay the $30 anyway for the flick I just 'watched.'
P.P.S. STOP having skiers try and explain why they ski, most pro skiers were fucking retarded before they got ski companies to fund their weed smoking habits. They just look dumb when you have them talk in front of a camera. I don't care if C.R. is dead, what he said at the start of revolver would only make sense if you had also smoked weed for 10 years before having an almost fatal brain injury followed by 2 more years of funding mexican drug runners.
