so i got the k2 revivals this year with marker jesters and i love everything about them. Super sick ski with just the right stiffness and playfulness. anyways because of the soft flex and the slight early rise, i learned how to do tip/ nose press butter 3's of rollers and mounds and stuff. i was super stoked on this and was doing it a lot. So when doing the tip butter 3s there was a lot of pressure on the heel pieces of my bindings, because all my weight was on my noses. So yesterday i was doing one of these and my heel piece just ripped right out of my ski, needless to say i was pissed, also this was only about my 7th time using these skis. i am wondering if my heel piece ripped out because of the pressure on it from the trick or because of a mounting default. Because i see skiers like max hill doing extreme butters and presses all the time and i dont think their bindings just come out of their skis.
Also will i be able to warranty this for a new ski?

It was a mounting issue. Don't worry about it though. The shop that mounted them will just stick some ski-serts in (small green plastic bits with threads on the exterior and interior) that will make the binding hold better than ever. You'll be fine.

They're nice bindings but they're known to break. Same exact thing happened to me with butters. I took it back to the shop and they fixed it for free. No issues since.

take em back to your shop. provided it's not a defect from a weak spot in the core, they'll helicoil the hole, remount, and they'll be stronger than ever. i've done it plenty of times. no big deal.

Yeah okay. There are 2 bindings that fall into the bombproof category. FKS185, 916. Thats it. Jester is primarily plastic.

This is not a warranty issue. Take it to the shop, they will most likely helicoil it, and you will be good to go. In fact, ask for some helicoils. Even if they charge you like $30, get both heels done. It will be worth it in the end.
