Hey I'm saving up and I'm going to use my Christmas money on either a new pair of boots (full tilts) or get some new park skis. I've been looking at the line chronic cryptonites, the moment reno jibs, line afterbangs, ar7s or alpha 1s. what do you guys think? Any suggestions? Im 5'7" 122 lbs, ski probably like 50/50 between jumps and rails. these would be primarily for park. Thanks.
I've heard nothing but good things about all of the skis mentioned. The only ones i have experience with are the afterbangs. I got the afterbangs and i love them so far. super poppy, soft, bomb proof and super buttery. only problems i have with them are they are pretty heavy and kind of slow. the bases dont hold wax very well, but considering im broke and for how cheap they are, they are definetely the best i could have gotten.
The best answer in this thread so far, anyway, why would you use a park ski in the powder??, for park any of those are sick, i just bought moment reno jibs but haven´t rode them yet but they look like a pretty sick ski, they aren´t as soft as some people say, I have amplid antidogmas and they are stiffer.
Finally, you should decide if you like rocker for park or not, because we can´t choice between a park ski with rocker and one without rocker for you, its all about what you like.
reno jibs are sooo nice! they are stiff at first, but they will soften up a bit. super stable on jumps. really poppy on rails. low swing weight. great skis over all!
I've never skied a rockered park ski before. How does it affect the skis performance? Will a bit of rocker in a park ski make it a little more floaty in the powder just in case i decide I want to ski some powder but dont have my powder skis? Thanks.
I'm in the same spot here. And I'm leaning towards armada ar7, heard they were really durable, nice and responisive, plus an excellent park ski. Haven't skied them but I was considering the cc's, afterbangs, and domains so I'm gonna stay on this thread/. See what people say
yea i am curious as to how the halos perform as far as outside of the park...powder ect...i live on the east coast so when i say powder i mean 4 inch of fresh....are the halos a quality ski and also wondering how the rocker effects the ski in the park as far as butters and flex

Yeah totally, the bases are the best i have seen and the edges are tough too. like i said only the topsheets are soft but they will take whatever you throw at them
Ya thats the the 3rd time ive heard of that happening. then again i have two friends who rode theirs every weekend, all season, rode some urban, and rode their back yard setup all summer. and other than the top sheet being completely torn to shit, the bases are in perfectly skiable condition.
I ended up getting the ar7's and the first time I skied on them I had an orgasm.. They're flexy yet they kill it on ice. Never lost an edge. And floaty in powder.. Vert responsive and firm. Best "all mountain park ski" iv'e ever skied on.. I honestly thought from reviews that I was getting a stiff, park** mostly all mountain ski but the ar7's are much better then I expected.. Get them. You won't be dissapointed
Well aren't the halos kinda a mix between last years alpha 1 and alpha 2? Cause if they are then it would most likely take the 2's rail prowess, with the 1's ability for jumps... Ridden neither but go for it. All armada is dope
The halo are exactly the same skis as last year's alpha 2. They just changed the name because too many people were getting the alpha 1 and the alpha 2 mixed up.
