Any NSers rock climb in the NH/ME area?

hey NS, ive just recently started rock climbing. I climbed a piece of cathedral ledge (NH) in the fall and i have been doing a lot of gym climbing since then.
im just wondering if anyone else shares my interest and better yet if anyone in my area does.

I climb constantly. I had two trips to Cathedral planned this season, but got rained out. I did make it up to Acadia once though. I climb at the Gunks very regularly. It is ice climbing season now, and I'll definitely be taking trips up to NH to climb.

sounds good. im really hoping to get some ice climbing in this winter. ive never been but its something ive always wanted to do.

I was climbing ice in the Catskill Mountains today. There is a place very near Hunter Mountain that is excellent. The Adirondaks have a number of good areas as well. In NH, the White Mountains offer lots of opportunity, especially Mt. Washington.

I climb! ALLL THE TIME! Love rock climbing. Hitting up Mt Washington in the next month, yeeeahhh!

Cathedral is sick. Stuck in gyms right now, but its cool. Yay Metrorock!

But seriously climbing is fucking awesome.

its a lot of fun! definitely go with some people who know what theyre doing if u can. if not, go with some friends and take a class, or simple intro course (at a gym to start).
i climb primarily indoors in maine, and outdoor in NH

Yeah, bouldering is where it's at. I also do top roping at the local gym and some lead climbing outdoors.

I've been wanting to try some trad climbing for a while, I just don't have a rack and no one I know does it so it's a little tricky to start.  To me at least it seems way more exciting than bouldering or sport

If ur in the nh area I'd suggest getting a guide from te international climbing school. I did that for my first trad climb and it was a great experience

Yes, climbing, especially trad climbing, is very difficult to get into if one does not know the right people. A stranger is usually not keen on bringing a complete beginner along, as you literally have his life in your hands when he is leading, could potentially drop gear as you're cleaning it ($70 a drop), and are almost certainly not going to be climbing the same difficulty he is.

Overall though, I enjoy introducing people to climbing, and if you were in NY I would be happy to take you out for a day. To the poster below, he is not in NH. Check his profile - Minnesota. As an aside, I'm up to 60+ days of climbing so far this year, between ice and rock. I just got back from a trip to Colorado and Utah. The desert splitters were amazing in Utah! Heading to West Virginia on Sunday for a few days of climbing. Great season so far, despite the endless rain.
