Honestly, pretty boring. Nothing to amazing, i mean it looked fun and the song was a solid choice IMO but no one wants to watch other people shred down the same ungroomed blue run for 1 minute.
Agreed some shots of just skiing are ok unless its straight freshies but keep it short or throw in some cliffs and jumps if you want to make it more exciting or maybe some different cam angles
I would say duck out the sound from the footage so you don't have that background rattle. And shorten it up a little bit. Pretty good for a first edit, I know my first GoPro edit was trash haha and now they are getting a little better.
I liked the feel to it. It was casual and laid back. The music was decent; i always like a new genre going into ski edits. However, along with everyone else, the skiing was, ehhh. Idk, you should put steeper stuff, maybe get first tracks, cliffs. Just make the skiing more entertaining if you're gonna make a 2 1/2 minute edit.
Boring........I fell asleep before the intro was over, bad song, not color corrected, made the highlands look lame, slow skiing........just not interesting.
1.) Deeeeeeeep snow.
2.) You love doing slashes haha.
I'll tell you what people told me: The skiing was a little repetitive and slow. Throw in some drops and don't be afraid to go really fast.
In my second GoPro edit, I kept the critiques I was given in this thread in mind all day. This led to me jumping off more stuff, going faster, mixing it up, and generally trying to film for the edit (not editing for the footage) all day.
Here it is:
I did like your song choice and editing style. Both were quite smooth.
Thanks for the tips, I realize that not all of the skiing were bangers, but it was my first deep pow day with my goPro so i was anxious to make an edit,
i also understand that usually daily edits don't have enough good shots for a 3-4 min edit. just wanted to get something to show the fam over break and what not.
-on your edit, the only thing i can really think of is that i wouldn't put a somewhat long debooting/ leaving the mountain shot, i think its always better to put a good clip at the end (its kinda disappointing watching till the end to see you get in your car imo)
chill little edit man i saw you skiing off temerity a lot over christmas i was the kid in with a purple saga jacket and blue pants too. nice first edit though
Film in the 3rd setting for skiing guys, especially for POV. Otherwise at 30 fps the footage looks really shitty and no one cares that it's 1080p. 720p is legit and you can't beat the benefits of 60fps.
Obviously not.....Because of what ^ he is saying, I shot all that at 30 when I should have been filming at 60, I just hate converting footage unless its for a banger, and that obviously wasn't.
Here is a new edit, most of it is gopro, some is 7D and some are D7000, but you can Obviously...tell the difference.
