I fill my body with drugs and listen to electronic music on a terrible sound system while waving glow sticks in order to have a good night. Raving is fun!
Nah, you're entitled to do whatever you want but I have no desire to fuck with hard drugs. If it doesn't grow in the ground I don't like to put it in my body.
raving is amazing until you've scooped every piece of brain away. keep the rolls very inconsistent, I've met pleeeenty of people in socal who have rolled themselves retarded. can't keep a steady job, completely emotionless, blank stares, its very sad.
yea i agree. not saying i'm against it or haven't done my share but rolling is not something you want to do real often. Its way to easy to eat too much.
hahaha I was just thinking bout these vids glad you posted.
I used to rave and roll all the time. havent done it for over a year now but id hit it up again. it really is some of the most fun you can have but rolls will fuck you up over time
been to a couple, they are fun which is why i can see how it would be easy to get sucked into it. don't really think i'd go to another "rave," maybe smaller concerts in the genres i like
I used to go to raves and roll my face off, but i'm kind of glad my parents caught me. It's a really easy thing to get sucked into and granted its a shitload of fun but in the long run, pills can fuck you over, especially if they're cut with other drugs. I still go to shows occasionally but i don't roll anymore, as tempting as it may be. If you really enjoy the music, you can have just as much fun going sober, or drunk for that matter.
i'm into the rave scene . rolling is fun every once in a while... i do it , but i keep it far and in between... going to a deadmau5 show deserves a roll, etc...
i love it though, electronic music is my favorite, and i feel like its blowing up.
i really really love going out to a rave with a wicked sound system, good music, good friends and a good light show. can really be some of the most fun you've ever had. but like everyone says you gotta do it in moderation, its really easy to do it every weekend so you gotta have a straight head on you to resist. everyone should go to a rave once even if there not on drugs, get wasted and it would still be wicked for a while.
all you little fuckin kids, callin a fuckin deadmau5 show a fuckin rave, can go fucking die. rave and specifically "ravey" sounding music is a super specific type of synth sound, sample grouping and beat structure. you are all little trendwhores who have somehow seen deadmau5 t-shirts at fuckin hot topic and now fuckin think youre a "raver" cuz you go to a fuckin event and fuckin take some fuckin shitty street pressed thizz or whatever you call it and dont have any understanding of how electronic music is made, played or DJed. by the way deadmau5 is not a DJ. if you dont understand that, youre literally a fucking idiot.
not trying to be mean, i guess that came off as harsh... i do agree that new Deadmau5 music is not 'rave' music, but some of his original stuff was surely influenced by the rave scene.
i know mau5 isnt a dj, infact his djing skills arent the best, his shows arent raves by the definition, but they are fun regardless, and he has a 2 million dollar light show, maybe one of the best in the world
I would've said this a little less aggressively, but yes. So many trend whores in the "rave" scene. Everyone just groups all electro/drubstep/trance/house into a giant category. No one knows anything about the people and story behind the sound. They just want to eat drugs act like a whore and dance to the trendy music. It makes me mad.
just because mau5 has picked up a lot of followers doesnt mean the quality of his music has dropped, he just produces a variety of electronic stuff now, not just house stuff
yup, if I'm going to a festival or show I definitely know a lot about the artists performing and usually have an extensive knowledge of their tracks/albums/EP's.. I produce and DJ myself so I'm always going because of a love for music, far from some people who just show up with a bag full of drugs..
while it can be a lot of fun, everything in moderation.. I've been to my share of festivals and shows, it's fucking scary seeing people passed out and unconscious, for all I know they ended up dying.. it's fucked..
I'm surprised no one has mentioned nitrous yet either, i'm not hating on everyone who uses it (hippie crack ain't for me) but some of the most fucked up and lowest forms of human life I've seen are after shows people just teeing off on dozens of balloons (after who knows what they've done before)..
I'll never forget after the biscuits show in boston there was a dude with like 8 balloons in his hands just shaking walking around in the middle of four lanes of traffic, mind completely gone.. people honking and screaming in terror, that shit shook me..
whatever you end up doing, try and be as safe as possible.. I know it's not always possible to know exactly what you're taking, at least talk to someone whose taken one from that batch before.. have friends with you, drinking lots of water, don't be stupid..
oh yeah and to the dude that flipped out about people calling deadmau5 a DJ, he obviously produces his music but DJ's his sets live (a mixer and 2 CDJ's)..
Raving is a lot of fun but I try to only hit one rave a year or maximum 2 or 3, because I've seen people just turn into straight retards.
Raves all suck right now though because its all boring ass mediocre Dubstep (I like some Dubstep but 90% of it and most of the popular stuff is so average). I only go to shows with at least one good oldschool British DnB DJ. Something like 4 years ago you would find that at almost every show (even though it was usually just Shy FX lol), nowadays you'll be lucky to get any DnB, let alone good or British DJ's. Last rave I went to was Nocturnal two years ago. Since then haven't seen any good lineups in LA except for the Andy C thanksgiving show.
I go to electronic music shows. I don't go to raves. Occasionally they get decent DJs (I saw Bad Boy Bill at a rave, and that was pretty sick.) But the crowd is so shitty, Its not even worth it.
You guys should watch this video its fucking hilarious.
Since when do raves have anything to do with glowsticks? Glowsticks aren't really in any "real" raves anymore. I've been to raves at the legendary Berghain and have never seen glowstick
Also, has anyone ever been/heard of Berghain? I raved there over the summer and it was one of the best times of my life. I stayed from Saturday night till Monday morning and fell asleep in the club. What a fun time!
I love raving. I love DJing, I love the scene, I love big raves and small raves.
People can feel free to hate on raves all they'd like, that's fine, I couldn't care less- go to a good rave (good production, good DJs) and try to not have a good time... I don't believe it's possible.
Really really shitty ones man. Europe knows whats up for sure. Leave it to the US to take something awesome and shit all over it. *Cough*dubstep/DNB*Cough*
Thaaank you for being one of the few voices of reason in this thread.
These shows aren't about getting fucked up, they're not about judging people or hating on other's music, it's about love for the people, the music, and everything around it. It is not something created when you mix electronic music, glow sticks, and pills, it's an atmosphere created by like-minded people getting together for the same purpose (as hippy as that sounds). The crowd at most of these one-night shows generally doesn't create an environment at all like this, and definitely creates the negative image most people have of the scene, but once you go to one good show or festival it'll all come together.
ya ive rolled face before at shows, not a rave. fun but best night of my life? not by a long long long shot. besides that shit is designed to make you feel great but thats a pretty fake happiness in my opinion. especially when you feel like ass the next day. Ive decided to stay away from it just isnt for me or in line with what I value anymore
