sorry but this doesnt seem like the most enthusiastic post... making it seem like you're a little unsure. anybody with first hand evidence?

I just got a thule rack for my 2011 impreza 5 door and it comes with clamps that hook right on to the factory bars.

took 5 minutes to hook them on. such a great investment so when your boys get back in the car after a day of skiing they dont slam their wet skis into your clean interior.

I just googled the 725 and it looks as if it comes with clamps. I dont see why any of the models wouldnt come with clamps. then how would you get it on your car?

the new 725 does come with clamps. not older models. older models screw in to square (flat) bars only. mine aren't totally flat or straight

ok then to answer your question yes you need one with clamps. My impreza comes with the factory bars ( not completly flat) and without the clamps I would not be able to get the rack on. So clamps is a must
