Opinion on smoking on the lift?

Yeah I don't see it as a bad thing.  Pot is kind of part of the skiing culture in a way. 

And I just feel like telling this story about smoking on the lift.  Me and two of my buddies were going up the lift and I started packing a bowl.  Both my friends were staring off into the park and I was staring at my bowl making sure I didn't drop anything.  Anyways, all of a sudden, Santa Claus comes by on the other side of the lift with a couple of workers from the mountain.  It was so awkward, and then as we passed Santa said to us "Merry Christmas marijuana people."  After that we continued to finish packing and smoke the salad.  This story is legit.  I shit you not.

Go ski with a bunch of old skier dudes that ski bum it every weekend and weekdays.  The REAL skiing culture.  Not the rich ass kids and their parents that give the resorts all of their money.

Generally I do not care what and if people people are smoking on the lift - except for one particular instance:  I absolutely hate it when I am hung over and I smell someone smoking cigarettes on the lift, makes me want to vomit

Smoking is also pleasant as shit to tons of people. People can't respect that and have to be whinny little bitches even though your smoking really isn't effecting them.

word, most skiers here who dedicate their lives to shredding blaze. its irritating me recently that there are so many nser's hate on it when the skiers i know that spend their days on the mountain and not on the internet smoke too to enhance the experience. thats apposed to the kids here who ski once a week at most but have the free time to bitch about how it waists your life.

i think it fine...i was on the lift and 2 guys pull out a foldable bong..you know the ones that collapse small...sucks for them because some ski patrol was on the lift in back

its a pain to light anything on the lift, the woods are so much more convient. you pass a blunt on the way down some mellow trail also fun but parrents get kinda pissy there

yea they clipped there passes for the day. because its "family" place and they dont want to be known as the mountain that is drug friendly...they dont give a shit about cigs though...

how is it stupid? its outside on a fucking mountain where theres usually wind, you would smell something for like half an instant. someone farting would be about the same annoyance. a lot of non-smokers act like they own the air and its a little annoying.

if you have asthma and my smoke is in close enough proximity that it effects you, then by all means i'll put it out. but on a chairlift, even if your on the next chair behind me, my smoke is not doing anything so quit your bitchin.

Cigs- do what you want, I don't smoke them but don't really care if anyone else does.  Weed- I love weed so it doesnt bother me at all, I usually duck into some trees though to light up.

I don't smoke but I don't mind if people do on the chair, sometimes cigarettes get a little annoying but where I ski, going up the chair in the morning there's always someone smoking a joint.

I've had old guys smoking cigars beside me on the lift too

Just be polite. Don't smoke on the gondola. Don't smoke on the chair with strangers. Even if you ask to smoke, they will probably say yes even though it bothers them.

Who cares if someone is smoking in a chair in front of you? sorry if the faint smell bothers you but it's not affecting your health in any way and is such a weak smell anyways. If that bothers you just suck it up.

Nah man that's not what I said.  I said the rich kids and their parents are not part of the REAL ski culture.  And if you look at most of the middle class skiers, adults and kids, that devote their lives to skiing, at least 50% of them smoke weed.  It's just something that is very common among ski bums and their culture.

i have a spot at all my usual mtns where i can run off a couple hundred feet into the woods and just smoke up... then u just take a run and ski fast. the smell goes right away. minus ur hand

all you children that are watching DARE or whatever they show you in middle school health class nowadays, trying to deny where your skiing culture came from, need to reexamine the way that freeskiers ski, dress, talk, and conduct themselves. some of the best skiers of our time are open pot smokers. and please, don't delude yourselves into thinking this is distant past I'm talking about. yeah, candide, tanner, mik d, the golden age of freestyle shred, all pot smokers. but recently? watch the new level 1 movie.

i'm not saying that you infants should go out, buy some weed and smoke it. because it won't turn you into the best skier ever. and there are SO MANY talented freeskiers that don't smoke weed, and maybe never have and maybe never will. to each his own. but to think that weed wasn't part of the invention of freesking style or culture is lunacy, and to think that its effects don't pervade most aspects of freesking, especially the park scene, is even worse.
