Is anyone else tired of the Christian police going around trying to make the world OK for Christians, like all the bullshit about keeping Christ in Christmas, or the Remove Fuck Jesus Christ group on facebook.....i mean cmon its facebook, if your not ready to be offended than dont make a facebook.

why does there need to be a limit? Does me watching the polar express as my younger cousins receive gifts from "santa" impede on your ability to go to mass or celebrate jesus?

non-religious people and religious people need to realize that neither group's actions are based solely on pissing the other one off.

The set of preachers that make common appearances on my campus, telling girls in shorts they are sluts and going to hell, the billboards on the highways where i live, republican senators using religion as an excuse to disprove global climate change and stopping potentially helpful legislation, walking around with money that says In God We Trust on it when i dont trust God, and so on

so it's ok for you to worship skiing and associate with a community of people with similar beliefs; that skiing is the be all / end all of your existence and how it is extremely influential in your life, but when it comes to religion it is downright unacceptable.

i don't know, but a "Fuck Jesus Christ" group is just really over the top. everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and everyone can chose what religion they follow, but it's not by any means ok to openly insult the religion of another person. this group is, in fact, offensive regardless of the fact that its facebook. facebook is a social networking site, not a site to bash or insult others beliefs. you're entitled to your beliefs, and as a Christian I respect that. it's not ok, though, to parade around and make a mockery of other religions (not saying you're doing that)

im not saying that you literally get down on all fours and pray to skiing, but you follow it, you value it, you associate with a community of people that share a common interest in it, and you may or may not feel like your life is empty without it, as i know many skiers on here claim every day they do.

most of you do the exact same thing religious people do, yet they always get bashed for their beliefs and wanting to spread a little awareness in something that brings joy to their lives.

what wrong with publicly sharing something that is influential in your life and leaves you feeling a little happier and a little more optimistic?

i respect that, but the way i look at it is that words are words, they only hold the meaning you give them, i dont believe in curse words, and if some people are so opposed to Christianity, i feel they have every right to make that group, whether you join is voluntary, so i dont see an issue with it, plus didnt jesus preach turning the other cheek, not trying to remove those whom with you dont agree?

that is a fundamental belief of christians, yes. and i hold no real grudge against someone who creates that group, i just kinda choose to ignore but you brought it to my attention. i'm glad you were able to spur a semi intellectual discussion ( i say semi because some of these posts are really dumb). it's my understanding that Christmas is a christian founded holiday, but obviously everyone has the right to celebrate how they choose. i'll honor your choices and beliefs as i hope you would honor mine. i don't force my views upon anyone, and i really frown upon those who do or who choose to bring religion into government considering the fact that for the government to function properly and as a democracy should, there must be a clear separation between church and state.

The latest and probably most ridiculous  example is the Republican senators who filibustered a bill which would have given 9-11 First responders healthcare for the terrible illnesses they are experiencing from breathing the air at ground zero.........fun fact: republicans have filibustered almost 60% of Obama legislation, the highest it has ever been in the past is about 10%

It must be because he's black hahahaha or they think he's a socialist. but really, the Tea Party believes that Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh are legitimate politicians and are the faces of their party and their radical beliefs are absolutely destroying the two-party system.
