kanye is terrible. college dropout, graduation were good but he let his ego get the best of him when he made that 80's heartbreak shit.

only suburban rapper i can tolerate is drake and im sure he will sell out faster than anyone

gang starr, slaughterhouse( joe budden, royce da 59, crooked i, joel ortiz), jedi mind tricks, mos def, talib, bone thugs are all better than kanye by far.

Well...you can have your own opinion I suppose. The lyrical content might not be there as much as it used to be but you can't deny that webby and miller got flow. Now that I'm on my own and partying a lot more I don't care about the lyrics as much. Now I'm all about the overall vibe of the song.

There are DEFINITELY rappers from the sticks and the burbs that are lyrically dope though. Gotta look around...

the only time i have a problem with white kids from nice families rapping is when they rap about being a thug from the streets. Mac Miller, Hoodie Allen, and Sam Adams all don't do this. They are great party songs, and have good beats behind them. Sometimes you just want a song that makes you feel good, it doesn't have to have the wittiest lyrics and all that

it's one thing if they're trying to be hood and say they live a dangerous lifestyle, but a lot of them are just using rap as a medium to make some chill music and talk about their lives. all rap doesnt have to be based around the idea that the artist was raised on the streets. sure, most of them are terrible, but a few of them really arent that bad.

I dont know why you all say millers so much better than the rest... he legitimately raps about purely smoking. Dont get me wrong i like him i just dont like him soo much more than anyone else.

good point. he is a good producer. havnt listened to his new album so i shouldn't have have really should not have talked down on kanye, i just feel like he could do so much better. either way its all personal preference, he makes music and of people dig it they listen to it, if they dont then he could care less...

I don't have a problem with "suburban rappers", I have a problem with people rapping about stuff that couldn't be further away from there lifestyle. I like Sam Adams, his songs are catchy and put me in a good mood. He raps about partying and fucking hot girls, which are relevant to my interests.

I don't understand how the majority of NS'ers can hate on mainstream sounding "suburban music" when, and I know this might come as a surprise, a majority of NS'ers are from... the suburbs. What are you trying to prove by hating on mainstream things and talking about only "underground" or "real" hip hop. I shouldn't have to paint you a picture for you to be able to realize that a 15 year old kid wearing 4xl shirts down to his knees blasting Jedi Mind Tricks in his moms Volvo on the way to being dropped off at school is the real "fucking joke".
