This past season I was waiting in a lift line at the bottom of a kids slope style comp in Chile. This little snowboarding girl maybe about 6 or 7 that was competing was cutting in fornt me and some friends cuz she had to compete so we let her pass, no biggie.

She was then cutting in front of some old guy (late 40s, early 50s) and his kid. And when she was cutting the old dude just smacked her hard in the head (she did have a helmet) and got on the lift with his kid (it was a t-bar). This girl started crying so i asked her if she was ok and everything and tried to confort her. I went up with her and told her to chill and that the dude was a dutch and to tell her dad what happend.

when i got to top, the girl went to the starting point of the comp to her dad. I saw this old guy who hit her sitting there on the snow with his son and confronted him about the thing he had just done. The dude took of his skis and thretend to hurt me and shit like that and i was chill and sayed i only wanted to talk to him, i lectured him about how he was a dutch yelling at him and fuckin instuting everything he was, and that it didnt matter what the little girl did, she was 6 and this dude was 50. This rant continued like for 10 minutes by this time peoiple had been looking at us and overhearing everything. The girls dad showed up and out of no where punched this guy out, the old dude when strait to the floor and the dad went intop of him and punched him like 2 more times. we separated them and every body was claping at the dad.

minutes later the cops got there and took the old guy away

Older people on the mountain are ridiculous. How can you react before knowing what happened?

I mean... they were on a beginner mountain. How many people on a beginner mountain ski recklessly on purpose? If they are skiing recklessly... it's probably because they are learning and don't know how to control themselves. And come on.. it's a 14 year old girl. Even if she did do it on purpose how can a 41 year old man punch her?? wtf.

What person’s first reaction to anything is punching someone? I mean it isn't like your little boy is going to get any better because you punched the person. If it would have been any sane individual they should of first went to comfort there 4 year old child.

I love that this makes the news in americia in Europe mAinly France this kinda thing happens all the time, I've seen a full on punch up in a lifeline and a race kid in speed suit get thrown to the ground by a fat itallian because he cut infront of his kids in a line!

I've witnessed stuff like this twice, first when i was in whistler (snowboarding - I was young and stupid), and cutting along the edge of this road run, this guy and his kid were making nice regular turns down the middle of it, so I went to pass them on the outside, suddenly the old dude turned right out to the edge of the run, I had nowhere to go to avoid hitting him, tried to carve around but went off the edge, screamed 'fuck!' as it happened, as I was flying off the run into the trees, rag-dolled 30ft down this slope and hit a tree. Was shaken but only bruised, unclipped and started to hike back up, this old guy was stood there at the edge of the run, screaming at me totally red in the face... took me a while to work out what he was on about, then realised he was mad at me because I swore in front of his kid, I shouted 'I'm sorry' and carried on climing up... the geezer carried on shouting, and yelling... when i got back up to the top near the run he approached me still yelling and started screaming in my face. I was like 'I'm real sorry man, I was just shocked... i just fell like 30ft and crashed into a tree man... its not like it happened on purpose'... he just stepped forward and pushed me and said 'grow up and act responsibly'... I nearly fell back off the edge of the run.... couldn't believe it... I flipped, tore my gloves off and jacket and screamed at him every curse word I knew... felt kind of bad teaching the kid so much new material in one go, but he got real scared and backed down and skied off calling me a Jerk... What a prick.

Second time saw a french ESF instructor beat a snowboarder with a pole and scream at him till he was horse for nearly crashing into his kids class, which he had stopped over a blind ridge, at the narrow entrance to the Terrain Park. Prick

i always found this "protecting my kid" thing hilarious. dont get me wrong, i understand protecting your kids safety. But how on gods green earth is punching ANYONE, 14 year old or not, acceptable, or a good example for your kid.

He wasn't protecting his son. The supposed damage to his son was already done. The girl was not continuing to attack him. By punching her, we was not warding off further attacks. He was just retaliating.

I actually think this guy should get the maximum sentence. The fact that you show ability to even hit a 14 year old girl (when you are not a 14 year old boy), shows you don't belong amongst other free individuals. Mental institution anyone?

some people just lose it last year i got hit by a drunk guy from italy i was standing at the top of a drop and he just flat out hit me and i wasnt standing in any dangerous position and he continued to cuss me out good thing a patroler saw and he got arrested for quite a few things now i hate fat drunk Italians
