GoPro 60p footage plays fine on computer but really slow in Vegas

I got a GoPro the other day and I'm having some problems editing the footage.  When I just watch the videos once they're on my hard drive they play smooth with no problems.  Then when I bring the files into Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9 they play choppy and really slow.  If I just render a little bit and watch it after it plays fine.  How can I get my computer to run the files in vegas better?  I'm using a class 4 memory card and have been shooting 720/60p the whole time.

Vegas always seems to have problems with playing back hd footage smoothly.
you can make a SD timeline, and do all your editing and such in that.
and then make a HD timeline, and copy/paste all your shit over, and then render it out.

or you can upgrade ur computer.

orrrr you can convert your files to say WMV.

or change to adobe premiere pro, I find it to be the best.

this doesn't really have to do with the 60p playback issue, but do this regardless

Thanks guys but I fixed it, it was all Vegas's fault.  So my very logical solution (/sarcasm) was to upgrade to a better version of Vegas.  How are all the other editing programs better though?
