hellll no, not at all. i just got some grades back, b-, b-, b, c and im waiting for one more but so far my pga is a 2.6, thats the highest its EVER been for me

Pretty sure mine is going to be somewhere around a 2-2.5

Its not good, but I'm happy I got through this semester without failing anything. Next semester WILL be better.

wow thats rearded. Your gpa it was gets your foot in the door. If you send your resume online you document usually gets scanned for key words and numbers by a program..........

i'm sure you can do better, but it's not the end of the world by any standpoint, imo. keep your head up and move forward. i had a rough first semester of uni, but what doesn't kill you, strengthens you.

Dude, that's pretty bad.  Unless you're going to the NHL, hockey should not be your priority.  If you want internships, or to continue your education after college, under 3.0 is NOT going to cut it. I understand that hockey is probably pretty important to you, but getting good grades should be more important right now.  Aim for a 3.5 or higher next semester and treat hockey as more of a hobby on the side.  If you have to miss a practice to study, so be it.  Do well in school, it will pay off later in life.

I had a really hard first year. My grampa died last january, right after second semester started. I also had the bright idea to be a pot head, luckily probation kicked that habit.

Honestly hockey is just a scapegoat, Im lazy and all I want to do is snowboard.

Im not to worried about the Fs I got my freshman year because I can make up the classes, sucks cause its like a waste of money but you live, you learn.

As for now Im stoked to pass all my classes haha

Sounds like a pretty rough freshman year.  I would be pretty stoked on my second year too.  I just can't stress enough how much doing well in college can help in the future.  I decided to get drunk and party all the time my last few years of college, and even though I pulled decent grades, it basically cost me med school because I didn't do as well as I should have and I was too busy drinking to realize that I should have been out there getting more clinical experience.  I'm now in grad school trying to make up lost time and get into med school for 2012.  I know that our situations aren't really related, but just try to take it as some advice to really focus on school, and while you should definitely be out there having fun (it is college, after all), make sure that you nail down those grades.

I mean that is pretty low, especially to be stoked on. Last year I had like a 2.98 gpa first semester, wasn't stoked on that, 2nd semester I had a 3.09, I was happier but I would still like ti a little higher. This semester I'm not sure if I am going to break 3.0. But really, in college, gpa's do not matter that much. As long as you are passing the class, you shouldn't worry. Hell, I got failed, got a D, and a C on my accounting tests, but I audited a budget for a multi-million dollar resort, also got a B- in the class. That internship alone will give me a huge boost in networking. Internships are key in college. Thankfully, I have a required 190 hours of internship, so that will help a ton.

If your grades suck because you're having more sex than Wilt Chamberlain and partying like tomorrow ain't coming, then yes.

If you have a decent resume and some work experience or campus involvement your GPA will be overshadowed by that. Nobody in the real world cares about how good you did in Macroeconomics. They care more about the jobs and things you've done outside of the classroom
