How do FT's fit?

Hey

I have a pair of size 27 SPK's and i am going to be trading a guy for a pair of size 27.5 hot doggers because my SPK's are too small

is this .5 going to make a difference?

Do FT's fit big/small/true? Apparently SPK's fit pretty big (I have nothing to compare them to) so maybe .5 won't make a difference?

the .5 just means a thinner footbed... the shell is the exact same size. obviously a FT will fit differently then a spk though

they fit pretty narrow. but i feel like they are pretty similar to spks. people on NS are anal about their boots and every one is going to say bootfitter, which may be true, but is also quite possibly the most expensive part of equipment in skiing.
i suggest going to any local shop and trying on a 27.5 ft boot. and then go for it. cause everyones foot is different. you wont get any good feedback from kids on here whose feet are entirely different than your own.

FT's fit wayyyy narrower than Spk's. so if you feet fit spks they are not going to fit FT's.

ok i'm just looking for someone that had or has both SPK's and FT's that can give me an idea of which fits bigger/smaller

I have SPKs but I haven't skied in like 3 years cause I was in Dubai so I have nothing to compare them to

I wear the SPK's but I don't have an abnormally fat foot, I think the only reason i'm not completely dying is because they're so fat so my feet expand outwards, they're so small it takes me like 5 minutes to put them on, I have to crank the tongue like 180 degrees and touch it to the toe to wedge my foot in, hahaha

I wear a size 10.5 skate shoe so my SPK 27's are really tight

Not gonna lie, they do fit, just realllyyyyy snug

The good thing about that though is that I don't get toe bang, they're super tight

But the bad thing, which is key here in Canada, I freeze my toes off : (

You will be trading a boot to small for an even smaller boot.

As annoying as it may be to hear, got to Tommy and Lefebre (preferably on bank street in ottawa for the best selection, but the one in kanata will do) and you can try on a few different boots including SPK's and FT's to see how they fit, everyones feet are different so we can't give you an accurate idea of how a certain boot will feel.

i rode 26 FT's and im getting my 26 SPK's this week, i'll let you know how they fit.
I had this same question, but I found a good deal on the SPK's so I figured if all else fails I'll resell.

Im not a scientist but i dont think you made a very accurate statement...

Yes fulltilts are a shorter boot in length, I just moved from an spk 27.5 to a fulltilt 28.5, with very very small difference in length (1 mm). However, I have way more room in my fulltilts and they dont crush my toes like the spks do, there is obviously a size difference for the foot area and i dont think the boot length has a whole lot to do with it.


As for if the fulltilts will fit OP, try some 27.5 on at a store first.. you'd hate to make a trade to find they dont fit your foot

Shell length has pretty much nothing to do with how much room is inside the boot.

the ONLY way to know if either of these boots is right for you is to go to boot-fitter and get shell fit. there is simply no other way to tell. If someone hated the SPK but loved the FT, that doesn't mean that you should because you might have an SPK foot and they had an FT foot. Don't take advice from anyone else (other than a boot-fitter) about what is going to fit you or not.

i got a FT and its super narrow for me, so now i bought nordica AoS, which i think is in between the FT and the SPK (FT being the narrowest and SPK the widest)
so if u feel space in the SPK (width wise) go for the FT but if u got wide feet like me , spk is def better, so dont do the change is mu suggestion.
oh yeah, and btw sometimes u cant feel the difference until u have shred wit the boot for a day

Unless you get the a new FTi model boot. I have wide feet & a high arch, just got some High Fives... best. move. ever.
But seriously, check with a boot fitter but only if they aren't obsessed about selling you a certain brand.

try it on at a store, if you like it buy the cheaper one. I got booters at a bootfitter and lover them soooooooo much (wide foot)
