Favorite Ski Shop

Hey guys, I’m pretty sure this has come up before. But, I searched and couldn’t find anything, so heres my question.


Whats your favorite ski shop? Can be the one you go to all the time, or one that you stopped into once and thought it was super cool. Also, if you wanna say why that would be great.


The reason I’m asking, is were looking to get our wax into more stores and while we can’t travel around to find the stores that we like. I figured the best & easiest way, would be to ask you guys. The main thing is we are looking for shops that are more boutique and have a culture that represents the people working there and are committed to the products they carry.

Yup

Although TMC already have their own brand of wax, and push it pretty hard. I love it, too, smells gooooooood.

Such a dope little store who is always getting the latest and greatest products, but they are always trying to carry smaller brands like Surface and Causwell to support the little guys.

Gord's ski and bike in Winnipeg. Recently bought boots from them, and I'm quite happy. They offer free boot modification for 180 ski days when you buy from them, which is great since I've had to have them stretch my boot shell to accommodate my foot (my arches collapse outward under pressure) and boot mods cost $80! Also, the store almost went bankrupt so I try to support them when I can.

This is awesome, really appreciated, keep them coming. Anything in the SLC, Park City, Keystone, Vail, Mammoth, Breckenridge, Mt. Hood areas? And still anywhere else.

Not a call out, but to those recommending Evo, we tried getting in touch with them earlier this season but never heard anything back. Hopefully that can work out sometime though, as we really like the kind of company they are.

I've never been to a "cool" ski shop that didn't go out of business... Are you trying to drag your company down with them? If I had a wax company my goal would be to sell that shit to as many big douche bag shops as possible.

I'm glad to see TMC Freeriderz getting the proper love in here. They're an awesome shop. Great guys. Last season, they helped me sort out a warranty issue, and fixed my buddy's ripped-out heel-piece on a deep(!) day to have him shredding an hour later. Totally legit. Ben kills it.

A personal favourite shop is A1 Boardshop in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I've lived in tons of places, and not much touches the expertise and vibe you get from A1.

Although they don't sell skis, except Libtech NAS, I think Rude Boys in Banff is fucking awesome. The dudes run a really core shop and if anyone is looking for anything aside from hardware, that's the place to do it. The tech guys (Evan and Craig) really know how to fix bases and edges. Don't bother going to any other shop in Banff for repairs, unless it's bindings. In that case, hit up Mike in the bottom of unltd.

I'd like to say that there is absolutely horrible shops in Toronto. I had to get a pair of skis mounted last week and it was $60. Ridiculous!!! I couldn't do it myself as I didn't have tools or a jig, and don't really trust myself enough to freehand a brand new pair anyway. And that $60 was from the only shop I really only half-trust to touch my skis in the whole city.
