well, a lot of drinks are referred to as "dry." that being said, i don't know why it's called canada dry cause it's not that dry to me?

you clearly don't understand what dry in terms of beverage goes. It's like a dry wine or dry saki etc. It's not that it is literally dry, it has to do with the flavour.
