So i took a major hiatus from newschoolers. My last post was year ago from today. I will be at steamboat from the 26th to the 3rd. I have a housed rented right on the mountain. I was wondering what the night life is like. What are the good bars for a 21 year old to go to and have a good time? Also what is the pot smoking scene like out there? Would any NSER possibly be willing to hook it? I know it is very evident in Vail and Breck.
i go to school out there. a lot of kids are staying there over break so theres going to be night life. theres always a party or something going on you just gotta know the right people. just ride around the park and in the gondola its not hard to find cool kids to kick it with while your here. ill be back on the sixth but most of my friends that ski are still there
ha ha ha........the reason i ask is because my math professors son is a snowboard instuctor at steamboat and offered to take me BC. You could come a long if you like. Thats why i asked.
Mountain Area: (not much since ski time square was leveled)
-Slopeside - good for apres but expensive. happy hour is a good deal, like $6 pizzas (that are dank) and cheap pints. happy hour is late, pretty sure 10-11.
-Tugboat - can be fun if there is good music.
Downtown- (pretty much the place to go now if you are trying to go out)
-Old Town Pub - typical bar, can't really go wrong, maybe music and dancing (girls)
-Taphouse - downstairs, good wings, sports bar, decent drinks, smaller size
-Boathouse - newer, pretty good, may be a dj upstairs
-Mohagany Ridge - sometimes goes off, sometimes dead, earlier happier hour that has good deals on tapas menu
-Sunpies - more a summer place but if you go there get a hurricane. it is what they are known for and three will have you swervin.
-Ghost Ranch - newer, closest thing to a club in steamboat, maybe a cover charge, good sound system, pricier
-Rio Grande - not late night scene but the best margaritas ever. limit of 3 for a reason.
thats pretty much the bar scene. i don't live there anymore so can't help you on the other stuff but if you find the right person and approach them in the right way you can find someone to help you out. just don't walk up to someone and say hey can you get me some nug. talk to them first so they don't think you are a snitch or something. if you have any more specific questions let me know.
